Alumnus Paul Atwater (MDiv, '84) planted North River Community Church in Pembroke, MA in 1989. Atwater states that he and his wife are "still there, still learning." North River was the first "seeker-oriented" church to find success in the Boston area using that model. The success has been so rich, in fact, that North River was chosen to receive a Purpose Driven Health award in 2004.
