Cory Schortzman

After graduating from Denver Seminary in 2000 with his MA in counseling, Cory Schortzman worked for several years in the Nebraska State Prison System as a therapist to the mental health and criminal male population. In 2008, Cory, his wife Kerry, and their four children moved back to Colorado to start a practice specializing in recovery for sex addiction and sexual anorexia called “Transformed Hearts.”
As a recovering sex addict and sexual anorexic Cory understood the need for such a practice. In August of 2004, after years of struggle, Cory and Kerry attended an intensive counseling experience with Dr. Doug Weiss of Heart to Heart Counseling and it changed their hearts and marriage. "Transformed Hearts" has become their ministry.
“Our prayer has been that our pain would not be wasted and God has answered that in ways beyond my imagination. Our story was on Good Morning America back in November. We are now a part of Dr. Weiss’s team and it has been a great experience. Today, seven months after starting the practice we are getting out of debt, as God is providing for us by bringing the sexually sick to our office locally, nationally and internationally. I am passionate about helping men and couples of all ages. Both Kerry and I are writing books for recovery groups regarding this issue of sexual anorexia.” Cory’s story is one filled with hope and encouragement grounded in faithful obedience to the Lord.
