M.A. in Youth and Family Ministries with a Concentration in Counseling Ministries
What is a Master of Arts in Youth and Family Ministries with a Concentration in Counseling Ministries?
With each generation, ministry to youth and families becomes more complex. To lead effectively in this area, you will need to understand today’s adolescent world, family dynamics, and how to provide biblical counsel and spiritual nurturing for diverse and fragmented family systems. The unique combination of this degree will bring those resources and skills together for you. The counseling portion of the degree does not lead to state licensure, but integrates biblical and psychological principles to complement the specialized studies in youth and family issues. With this degree you also earn a unit toward Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), which allows you to participate in clinical settings where ministry is being practiced. As you face increasingly difficult challenges in your ministry to youth and families, the M.A.-YFM/CM will expand your capacities to engage brokenness with God’s life-changing power!
Youth and Family Ministry degrees at Denver Seminary fall under the Division of Christian Ministry. To learn more about this division, watch a video from the Division of Christian Ministry or watch a video from the Division of Counseling.
