Do you want a ministry of biblically-based and clinically professional counseling in a
school environment? The M.A. in Counseling with a School Counseling concentration
combines a solid core of biblical and theological courses with excellent clinical
instruction in counseling methodologies. You will learn how to integrate your biblical
and clinical training in ways that are appropriate to a variety of counseling settings.
Then, in addition to specialized coursework in school counseling, you will have the
opportunity for an internship in a public or private school setting. This degree provides
an exceptional balance of rigorous academic preparation and practical, hands-on
application. This M.A. is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and
Schools and by the Colorado Department of Higher Education for school Guidance
Counseling in Colorado.
The Master of Arts in Counseling with a School Counseling concentration includes practicum and internships in preparation for the state of Colorado licensure exam and work within a religious or secular school counseling program.

Faculty Highlight
Dr. Fred Gingrich is Associate Professor of Counseling and chair of the counseling division. He is a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Gingrich has written a number of articles and presented at professional conferences in the areas of marital and premarital counseling, counselor supervision, and cross-cultural counseling.
