What education benefit is best for me?

Post-9/11 GI Bill

Based on our current tuition rates and the Dept of Veterans Affairs' $17,500 annual cap for private schools, 100% of your tuition and fees are covered at Denver Seminary up to 37 credits per year (assuming the veteran is approved at the 100% level).

Read our article, What You Should Know About The Post-9/11 GI Bill, for other important aspects about this program that every veteran should know.

NOTES:

  • Due to the high level of 100% tuition/fees coverage, Denver Seminary does not currently participate in the VA's Yellow Ribbon Program.

  • Each institution is required to report the net amount of tuition and fees to the VA each semester.  Therefore if a GI Bill recipient is also receiving any institutional aid (scholarships, grants, discounts, etc.) the amount of tuition and fees reported will be the difference between the actual amount charged and the amount of institutional aid awarded to the student.

How Do I Receive My Benefits?

Apply online, contact your regional VA office or representative, or call the VA Education Call Center (888-442-4551) to determine your eligibility and to initiate the application process.

Once you have received your Certificate of Eligibility letter from the VA, please send a copy to the Financial Aid Office (scan/email or fax is acceptable).  The Financial Aid Office will then send an electronic certification to the VA and payments should be sent within 30 days of the beginning of the semester/term.  Tuition & fees payments will be sent directly to the institution.  Any applicable book stipends ($41.67 per credit hour, up to $1,000 per academic year) and the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) (if applicable) will be sent directly to the student.
