Description:
Campus Staff Strategies Team Overview There are three distinct audiences that CMT serves when supplying strategies and resources for Campus Ministry. One of those audiences is Campus Staff. These are usually full-time para church staff that are actively engaged in ministry on campus, but may not have a strong support system, coaching, or tools. Or they may just appreciate how CMT can strengthen their ministry. Purpose of Position The Campus Staff Strategies Team will have the role to serve, envision, and equip these Campus Ministry Leaders (CMLs). The goal will be to help these staff become more effective in building EDM communities of faith on campus (evangelism, disciple-making, missions mobilization) to help to fulfill the Great Commission and spread God’s glory to the nations. Range of Positions Within the Campus Staff Strategies Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires at least some experience in college ministry Senior Staff- requires a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 40+ hours a week, depending on weekly schedule, travel and “all hands on deck” events for CMT. Responsibilities 1) Research Strategies- There are unique obstacles to Campus staffs when reaching out to college students, so as a part of this team, you will be the thought and research leader in the strategies to over come these obstacles and help these CMLs be as effective as possible in transforming their campus to be a sending base for the church into all nations. 2) Developing New Tools- As a leader in this field of ministry you not only want to be a part of getting the best tools and strategies into the hands of campus staff, but you want to use the experience that you already have, and the experience that you glean over time to develop new tools that you can quickly get into the hands of your audience to try out. (Field testing will be one of the greatest strengths of this team, and one of the greatest contributions to CMT Research and Development in general) 3) Contribute to the Newsletter- Although the Advancement team will be in charge of writing monthly newsletters to our CMT supporters, and the Research and Development team will be in charge of writing our weekly blog entries, both will be looking to you and the other Strategies Teams to supply them with the stories, tools, and strategies from the field that people really love to hear about. 4) Coaching Campus staff – Working on a Campus can be a very lonely thing. If you are the only staff from your ministry for miles around, or if you don’t even have a greater ministry organization that you are a part of to support you, then having someone to consult with on your ministry is critical in keeping you going. This is what you will do for these people all across the nation, limited only to the number of people on your team. 5) Recruiting- Because we want to be able to coach as many Campus staff that request our help it is important that we are consistently recruiting qualified coaches to join our team, and aid in the efforts to provide these ministers with the skills and resources that they need. The role of recruiting will fall primarily to the Director, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to assist with this as well. 6) Workshops- One of the best ways for us to be able to train campus staff is by developing half day and full day workshops, equipping them with the skills, tools, and strategies that we’ve been working on researching and developing. These workshops can take place all over the nation, and once a sufficient size team has been recruited (at least 3-5 people) then follow up opportunities and coaching relationships can be established to help Campus staff handle the natural obstacles that come from implementing new ministry strategies. (The Research and Development team will take the lead in creating the workshop materials from the content you supply them) 7) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters.
