Creative Staff Team Overview Providing creative and original perspective is an important aspect of what CMT hopes to contribute to the efforts of reaching college students with the gospel. Although the projects will consistently change, the hopes of remaining contemporary and forward thinking will stay the same. Purpose of Position As a member of the Creative Team, you will apply your carefully honed skills in art, design, editing (etc) and apply it to the goals of CMT to glorify God and fulfill the Great Commission. Whether it’s the Advancement team needing a video to summarize the ministry of CMT for potential supporters, the IT team needing a new logo for the website, or the Marketing Team needing a new campaign to be translated into finely composed materials, you will be the one to translate great ideas into captivating and memorable messages. Range of Positions Within the Creative Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires basic skills in creative design and some experience in college ministry (highly recommended but not required) Senior Staff- requires proficient skills in creative design and a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires superior skills in creative design and a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 40+ hours a week, depending on weekly schedule, travel and “all hands on deck” events for CMT. Responsibilities 1) Produce Projects Commissioned by Other Teams- Potentially any team under the CMT umbrella has the potential of commissioning a job from the Creative Director. The Director then has the authority to give perspective to each team as to the priority that their team’s request might have, thereby giving an accurate expectation of job completion, but in the end the Creative Team is meant to accomplish the tasks set forth by other teams with the superior skill that they possess. 2) Creative Team Original Projects- The Creative Director/Team will come up with original and unique concepts for contributing to the goals and vision of CMT as a ministry. This is in addition to the projects requested from other divisions of CMT. Priority of assignments, and new Creative Team Projects will be decided as a team. 4) Recruiting- Staff enabled with skills in graphic design, video recording and editing, product branding, and product composition will be recruited by the Director to enable the team to accomplish the many important tasks given to them. The team should be large enough to prevent the burn out of any particular staff member. Additionally each member of the team should have the goal of passing on their skills to less experienced members. 5) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. Relationships - Part of the Center for Missions Mobilization (basically USCWM and The Body Builders (TBB) in Fayetteville) - The Director reports to CMT Director directly. Indirectly reports to Steve Shadrach. Peer relationships with other Body Builder directors - The Director is coached by CMT Director and Joe Michie (USCWM Creative Director) - Staff and Senior Staff report to the Creative Director and are in turn coached by him/her - Works closely with Vision 7:9, and Support Raising Solutions staff - Maintaining good communication and relationships with the other CMT teams (Advancement, Marketing, Research & Development and IT Team especially) Team Environment and Personal Development - The BB does several things to foster community within our staff. This includes monthly meals together, annual staff retreats for the whole family, corporate and personal prayer time, and weekly prayer and worship times. We desire the spouses of all office staff to participate in these times as well. - We also have a passion to continue developing our staff, and when all possible, include the spouse in personal development as well. This plays out in monthly book readings, a weekly meeting that varies from book discussions to listening to guest speakers, and even a monthly half-day of prayer. - We expect all of our staff to be above reproach in all walks of their life. One step we have taken to ensure all men are protected from the temptation of internet pornography is by installing Covenant Eyes web tracking software on all personal and work computers to. - We also keep each other accountable in our personal relationship with Christ by praying for each other and sharing struggles with each other. - -CMT will also seek to develop our staff through a Personal Development Plans and bi-annual feedback on job performance - We ask that all staff spend time in actual campus ministry investing in students lives, testing ideas, learning more about campus ministry. We never want to be detached from those we serve. Results - CMT Team Commissioned Projects produced in timely and well prioritized manner - Consistent creative team original ideas (3-4 submitted to CMT Director Monthly) - A growing team of creative and professional people. - Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) - 2-5 projects completed per month depending on scope Benchmarks - Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on support goal and personal circumstances - Be fully transitioned by summer 2012 Skill Requirements Graphic design, video recording and editing, product branding, and product composition, good communication skills, good organization and prioritization skills, inspirational leadership over team of creative and passionate people (for Director only), team player, self starter, personally motivated, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. Salary Staffs are required to raise their own financial funds through the coaching and guidance of The Body Builders, Inc. The salary goals are very competitive, designed to comfortably meet the unique needs of each staff member, and take into account the level of experience and level of responsibility within the Creative Team. Benefits All health, life insurance, and dental insurance, as well as optional 403b are paid for through the staff’s personal ministry accounts. The BB provides all receipting of financial gifts and management of donors. Location This position is located in Fayetteville AR.
