Information Technology Staff Team Overview One of the biggest goals of Campus Ministry Toolbox is to provide a worldwide online hub for all things pertaining to Campus Ministry. No longer should amazing resources be isolated to the ministries that created them, but made available to anyone hoping to reach out to college students. In order to do that well, we need a cutting-edge website. Purpose of Position The IT team will have the charge to make sure that the CMT website functions smoothly, is easy to find, and to be used by all Campus Ministry Leaders (CMLs: Campus Staff, Church Leaders, and Student Leaders). To be the thought leaders in campus ministry our proven tools and resources must make it into the hands of CMLs enabling them to more effectively evangelize, disciple, and mobilize college students to help to fulfill the Great Commission and spread God’s glory to the nations. Range of Positions Within the IT Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires basic skills in IT and some experience in college ministry (highly recommended but not required) Senior Staff- requires proficient skills in IT and a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires superior skills in IT and a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 40+ hours a week, depending on weekly schedule, travel and “all hands on deck” events for CMT. Responsibilities (some of these maybe outsourced until the team is built) 1) Web Design-The CMT website should cutting edge, consistently fresh and up-to-date. The moment we give the impression that our website it out of date, then so will our research and tools. Therefore efforts to keep it aesthetically appealing (according to current trends), error free, relevant, functioning smoothly, easy to navigate, and continuously updated with new materials is critically important. 2) Database design and maintenance- CMT should have a database of all clients consumers, subscribers and other contacts who come to us through various means. This should grow into the most comprehensive database of CMLs in the nation. 3) Web Support- because we hope our website to be reminiscent of a consumer review site, it is very important that communication to and from the website be managed quickly and efficiently. Emails should be answered promptly, and consumer reviews should be regularly edited and organized. Feedback on the site (from CMLs or CMT team) should be gathered and acted upon in a timely manner. 4) Recruiting- Web programming and maintenance is a very time consuming activity, and therefore recruiting qualified people to work with you towards keeping this site top of the line is critical to prevent burn out. This is primarily the Director’s responsibility, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to provide as much assistance as possible. 5) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. Relationships - Part of the Center for Missions Mobilization (basically USCWM and The Body Builders (TBB) in Fayetteville) - The Director reports to CMT Director directly. Indirectly reports to Steve Shadrach. Peer relationships with other Body Builder directors - The Director is coached by CMT Director - Staff and Senior Staff report to the Director and are in turn coached by him/her - Works closely with Vision 7:9, and Support Raising Solutions staff Team Environment and Personal Development - The BB does several things to foster community within our staff. This includes monthly meals together, annual staff retreats for the whole family, corporate and personal prayer time, and weekly prayer and worship times. We desire the spouses of all office staff to participate in these times as well. - We also have a passion to continue developing our staff, and when all possible, include the spouse in personal development as well. This plays out in monthly book readings, a weekly meeting that varies from book discussions to listening to guest speakers, and even a monthly half-day of prayer. - We expect all of our staff to be above reproach in all walks of their life. One step we have taken to ensure all men are protected from the temptation of internet pornography is by installing Covenant Eyes web tracking software on all personal and work computers to. - We also keep each other accountable in our personal relationship with Christ by praying for each other and sharing struggles with each other. - CMT will also seek to develop our staff through a Personal Development Plans and bi-annual feedback on job performance - We ask that all staff spend time in actual campus ministry investing in students lives, testing ideas, learning more about campus ministry. We never want to be detached from those we serve. Results - A reducing number of issues with the site/DB - A growing number of downloads, purchases, posts, comments, reviews - Number of closed projects or issues related to the site - A growing team of IT staff - Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) Benchmarks - Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on support goal and personal circumstances - Be fully transitioned by summer 2012 Skill Requirements Experience/knowledge of java, flash, HTML, experience w/ Content Management Systems (currently DotNetNuke) and possible mobile apps, competence in basic design/graphic art, organizational skills, people skills relating to customers, recruiting and leadership skills for team (Director only), team player, self starter, personally motivated, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. Salary Staffs are required to raise their own financial funds through the coaching and guidance of The Body Builders, Inc. The salary goals are very competitive, designed to comfortably meet the unique needs of each staff member, and take into account the level of experience and level of responsibility within the IT Staff Team. Benefits All health, life insurance, and dental insurance, as well as optional 403b are paid for through the staff’s personal ministry accounts. The BB provides all receipting of financial gifts and management of donors. Location This position is located in Fayetteville AR.
