Marketing Staff Team Overview The hope of providing Ministers with the best of the best tools in College Ministry is directly contingent on our ability to become known as the place to meet college ministry needs. Without proper marketing many College Ministers will continue to miss out on the service that we hope to provide them. Purpose of Position The Marketing Team has the charge of finding the latest and greatest ways of effectively and efficiently getting the CMT name and ministry contribution out to the general population of College Ministers. Thereby enabling CMT to assist them in their ministry, bring glory to God and help to fulfill the Great Commission. Range of Positions Within the Marketing Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires basic skills in marketing and some experience in college ministry (highly recommended but not required) Senior Staff- requires proficient skills in marketing and a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires superior skills in marketing and a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 40+ hours a week, depending on weekly schedule, travel and “all hands on deck” events for CMT. Responsibilities 1) Utilize Social Media to Create Buzz about CMT- There are a lot of quick and efficient ways to get the word out about something these days (twitter, Facebook, blogs, etc). As a part of your marketing you will make sure that CMT is never forgotten about as you continually find new, contemporary, and creative ways of reminding college ministers of the services that we provide. 2) Commission Creative Director for Marketing Materials- Though it will not be your job to create the materials and graphics used to promote CMT, it will be your job to be a part of developing the campaigns used to advertise who CMT is, what we stand for, and what we hope to contribute. 3) Find, plan, and coordinate Workshops, Booths, and Conference Speaking Opportunities for CMT staff- One of the greatest opportunities that CMT has to get the word out about how we would like to contribute to reaching out to college students is through finding and taking advantage of opportunities to speak at Conferences, present Workshops, and represent CMT at promotion booths. 4) Commission Conference Speakers- Although there may be many full time staff for CMT that would do well at a conference speaking opportunity, preparing a well put together presentation is very time consuming and labor intensive. So in most cases it will be preferable to commission veteran speakers to speak on behalf of CMT values and vision instead. 5) Recruit- Finding men and women that thrive in areas of marketing and trendsetting to join your team will enable you to accomplish the important goals of the Marketing Team in an effective and efficient manner. You should always be reproducing yourself. This is primarily the Director’s responsibility, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to provide as much assistance as possible. 6) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. Relationships - Part of the Center for Missions Mobilization (basically USCWM and The Body Builders (TBB) in Fayetteville) - The Director reports to CMT Director directly. Indirectly reports to Steve Shadrach. Peer relationships with other Body Builder directors - The Director is coached by CMT Director - Staff and Senior staff report to the Director and are in turn coached by him/her - Works closely with Vision 7:9, and Support Raising Solutions staff - Building and maintaining relationships with potential Conference Speakers - Maintaining close communication with the Creative Director and Team - Maintaining close communication with the R&D team on their latest developments (fuel for social media campaigns) Team Environment and Personal Development - The BB does several things to foster community within our staff. This includes monthly meals together, annual staff retreats for the whole family, corporate and personal prayer time, and weekly prayer and worship times. We desire the spouses of all office staff to participate in these times as well. - We also have a passion to continue developing our staff, and when all possible, include the spouse in personal development as well. This plays out in monthly book readings, a weekly meeting that varies from book discussions to listening to guest speakers, and even a monthly half-day of prayer. - We expect all of our staff to be above reproach in all walks of their life. One step we have taken to ensure all men are protected from the temptation of internet pornography is by installing Covenant Eyes web tracking software on all personal and work computers to. - We also keep each other accountable in our personal relationship with Christ by praying for each other and sharing struggles with each other. - -CMT will also seek to develop our staff through a Personal Development Plans and bi-annual feedback on job performance Results - CMT recognized as a thought leader in college ministry - Regular annual circuits of Conferences (in the form of Speaking, Booths, and Workshops) - A growing Marketing Team to prevent burn out for any particular staff member - Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) - Plan and execute a national conference for CMLs nationally. Benchmarks - Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on support goal and personal circumstances - Be fully transitioned by summer 2012 Skill Requirements A tenacious attitude in consistently finding new ways to get out the name of CMT, superior communication skills, contemporary knowledge of social media venues, organization and coordination skills, big picture perspective, creativity in campaigning, marketing degree or experience, event planning degree or experience, team player, self starter, personally motivated, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. Salary Staffs are required to raise their own financial funds through the coaching and guidance of The Body Builders, Inc. The salary goals are very competitive, designed to comfortably meet the unique needs of each staff member, and take into account the level of experience and level of responsibility within the Marketing Staff Team. Benefits All health, life insurance, and dental insurance, as well as optional 403b are paid for through the staff’s personal ministry accounts. The BB provides all receipting of financial gifts and management of donors. Location This position is located in Fayetteville AR.
