Operations Staff Team Overview of Position In the broadest sense, the Operations Team will oversee the operations of Campus Ministry Toolbox (CMT). The goal will be to help CMT run efficiently, remain above reproach, and grow into the thought leader of campus ministry. The oversight and management includes the areas of financial, strategy, administrative, personal development, resource development and team building. Because we are a dedicated team of Christians committed to using our lives to fulfilling the Great Commission, we are not interested in just any qualified candidate. We are seeking a person who is willing to join our ministry community and shares our passion for collegiate evangelism, disciple-making, and missions/mobilization for the glory of Jesus Christ. Purpose of All CMT Positions To glorify God and fulfill the Great Commission by serving 6000+ church and para-church campus ministry leaders worldwide with proven tools and strategies to strengthen their so that more Campus Ministry Leaders (CMLs) are equipped with the tools and strategies the need to reach their campuses and the world for Jesus. Range of Positions Within the Operations Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires basic skills in operations and some experience in college ministry (highly recommended but not required) Senior Staff- requires proficient skills in operations and a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires superior skills in operations and a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to EDM on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 45-55 hours/wk depending on travel, weekly schedule: (½ day ministry to Campus Ministry Leaders, ½ CMT mtgs, 3 days developing CMT Operations, 1 day travel) Responsibilities This position is largely an administrative position providing oversight, management, and service to the staff of CMT as well as development of tools and systems that help CMT grow to be a national leader in Campus Ministry. 1) HR- Coordinate HR functions of a national ministry including developing HR policies/guidelines, assisting staff with benefits, coordinating the office, recruiting and interviewing new staff (Primarily Director’s Role), coaching/training new staff, serving as an overseer/minister/mentor to other CMT staff, assist CMT Director with strategic planning/being a catalyst for growth and positive change. Goal: serve other CMT staff faithfully so that they are encouraged, equipped, and freed to pursue the goals of their position *The HR roles are primarily the responsibility of the Director of Operations 2) Media- website development (until IT Director is in place), negotiate and manage outsourced projects (graphics, web, research, marketing etc), manage and grow national database of CMLs, assist in marketing CMT Goal: Prominent web presence and national recognition through web, FB, Twitter, blog, e-newsletters/articles, marketing 3) Assist CMT Staff- All staff will assist with research of tools, write/develop/conduct(?) trainings, assist in finding other writers/speakers for CMT projects, executive coaching of several CMLs (time on campus), network with other campus ministry leaders across the nation. Goal: CMT becomes a well-known thought leader in Campus Ministry through new tools (1-2/yr), CMT trainings, a website populated with proven tools, blogs, articles and newsletters. 4) Member of The Body Builders- coordinate and support with the other divisions of the Body Builders (esp BB Operations Director) areas of marketing, recruiting, representation at Conferences etc. Goal: good relationships with the other divisions and new ways to work together to influence CMLs for the glory of Jesus. 5) Recruiting- The responsibilities of the Operation Team can be quite demanding, therefore a continually growing team is essential to prevent the burn out of any particular team member. Recruiting is primarily the role of the Director of Operations, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to provide as much assistance as possible. 6) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. Relationships - Part of the Center for Missions Mobilization (basically USCWM and TBB in Fayetteville) - The Director reports to CMT Director directly. Indirectly reports to Steve Shadrach. Peer relationships with other BB directors - The Director is coached by CMT Director - Staff and Senior staff report to the Director and are in turn coached by him/her - Works closely with Vision 7:9, and Support Raising Solutions staff - Director provides supervision of other CMT staff (executive pastor roles: overseer, admin, catalyst, minister, mentor) - Personal Coach to several CMLs a case load of partners in our region Team Environment and Personal Development - The BB does several things to foster community within our staff. This includes monthly meals together, annual staff retreats for the whole family, corporate and personal prayer time, and weekly prayer and worship times. We desire the spouses of all office staff to participate in these times as well. - We also have a passion to continue developing our staff, and when all possible, include the spouse in personal development as well. This plays out in monthly book readings, a weekly meeting that varies from book discussions to listening to guest speakers, and even a monthly half day of prayer. - We expect all of our staff to be above reproach in all walks of their life. One step we have taken to ensure all men are protected from the temptation of internet pornography is by installing Covenant Eyes web tracking software on all personal and work computers to. - We also keep each other accountable in our personal relationship with Christ by praying for each other and sharing struggles with each other. -CMT will also seek to develop our staff through a Personal Development Plans and bi-annual feedback on job performance Results for Operations Director - # new policies or projects designed, developed and executed - # of new tools, trainings, strategies developed - Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) Benchmarks - Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on goal - Be fully transitioned and by end of June 2012 Skill Requirements Good people skills/communication skills, able to network with CMLs, college ministry experience, web experience, HR/Admin experience, team/leadership development, recruiting (for Director Primarily), likes to work on a team but a self starter, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. Think 'executive pastor' (overseer, admin, catalyst, minister, mentor) but for a national campus para-church organization. Salary Staffs are required to raise their own financial funds through the coaching and guidance of The Body Builders, Inc. The salary goals are very competitive, designed to comfortably meet the unique needs of each staff member, and take into account the level of experience and level of responsibility within the Operations Staff Team.
