Description:
The Assistant Pastor at City Presbyterian Church will oversee community life and family ministry. Under the direction of the Senior Pastor and the Consistory, the Assistant Pastor will provide leadership for family ministries, including nursery workers, children’s education classes, and children’s church. He/she will additionally provide leadership for all aspects of community life, including community (small) groups, Summer Conversations, and retreats, as well as assist with adult Christian education classes as necessary. Candidates should have sufficient theological training (MDiv or equivalent) and should adhere to the tenets of the Reformed faith. Additionally, candidates should reflect the standards of leadership set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, as well as demonstrate a track record of leadership, a dedication to serving others, and a commitment to working both independently and as part of a team to accomplish objectives. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated teaching skills, and the ability to multi-task are required. Minimum of two years of pastoral experience is required, and experience in family/children’s ministry is preferred.
