College & Young Adult Internship at Colorado Community Church

The College & Young Adults Intern serves the congregation by developing and leading a ministry to college and young adults (20’s & 30’s) and to help incorporate them into the overall life of the church. This position reports to the Director of Congregational Life. This is a paid, part-time (15 hours per week), non-exempt, internship position.
o Work with the Director of Congregational Life to develop a ministry plan and budget to accomplish the overall ministry objectives.
• College-Aged Ministry
o Develop a weekly meeting for fellowship, spiritual growth and community that targets the college-aged adults of Colorado Community and our local community.
o Develop and lead a ministry team comprised of students and adults to help carry out the ministry.
• Young Adults Ministry (20’s&30’s)
o Helps develop a sense of community for the young adult population at Colorado Community through monthly activities, informal gatherings and a regular presence during the weekend services.
o Provide teaching, spiritual leadership and pastoral care to this demographic as determined by the ministry plan.
• Additional Responsibilities:
o Attend all required staff meetings (i.e.: Staff “Devotions & Prayer”, Director’s Meetings, Monthly CCC All Staff, Annual Retreat, etc.) and keep scheduled office hours.
o Treat the internship as a job, not a recreational activity; faithfully attend weekend services and participate as requested; pray for leaders and congregation.
o Complete any assigned reading or specific ministry functions as needed for a Mentored Ministry Experience for college or seminary credit.
o A Christ honoring life marked by personal holiness, prayer, bible study, spiritual and emotional maturity and increasing dependence on the Holy Spirit (Titus 1:6-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7).
o Unquestionable integrity specifically in areas of handling finances, relationships and time management.
o A man/woman with a spirit of submission, eagerness, and flexibility, a teachable spirit and a sense of humor!
o Has proven ability to gather, relate with and be energized by being socially active with young adults (20’s-30’s) and is able to innovate in efforts to reach and teach this demographic.
o Understands the unique challenges/needs of this demographic and has a vision for helping this group integrate in a meaningful way with the rest of the church body.
o Proven skill in developing leaders and teams to serve each other and the community.
o Is comfortable in interdenominational settings.
o Takes personal initiative and is always learning from books, others and life experiences with a commitment to excellence.
o Solid computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Outlook, etc.).
o Willing and able to learn and use the church database system.
o A clear call to pastoral ministry and affirmation in that role.
o In full agreement with and champions Colorado Community’s Calling, Convictions and Statement of Faith.
o Supportive of the structure and leadership of Colorado Community Church.
o Passionate about seeing others succeed.
