Worship Arts Pastor at Conference Baptist Church

Summary: The Worship Arts Pastor/Director is responsible for the overall leadership, design and implementation of the Worship Arts Ministry at Conference Baptist Church. This position is full-time and reports directly to the Senior Pastor or senior member of the staff. Qualifications: The Worship Arts Pastor/Director should be a person who demonstrates spiritual maturity and integrity, is in theological agreement with Church’s Vision and Statement of Faith, and has relevant education and/or related experience. Formal music training and vocal gifting is required. This position requires Conference Baptist Church membership. Areas of Responsibility and Related Tasks: Pastoral • Develops a pastoral relationship with those in the worship ministry. • Demonstrates the fruit of the spirit in personal relationships. • Has a solid and growing relationship with Christ as demonstrated by responsiveness to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Vision and Planning • Develops a long- range worship plan consistent with the Church vision and in collaboration with the Senior Pastor. • Establishes steps to implement the long-range worship plan. • Regularly evaluates the effectiveness of the worship program in light of the worship plan. Worship Services • Collaborates with the Senior Pastor to arrange and integrate all elements of the worship services so they are thematically assimilated and complementary. • Coordinates holiday special-event programs (i.e. Christmas and Easter) • Ensures continuity and smooth transitions between the various elements of the worship service. • Develops additional creative ways to enhance worship. Worship Teams • Directs the ministry and development of adult vocal, instrumental, and creative worship groups. • Encourages high standards of spiritual commitment and musical excellence in all worship ministry participants. • Schedules/leads/oversees rehearsals for instrumentalists and vocalists for worship. • Recruits, auditions, and selects vocalists and instrumentalists for all teams. • Selects and/or arranges the worship music. Sound, Lighting & Multimedia Production • Arranges and coordinates technical personnel and equipment for all services and special events. • Recruits and trains crew members for sound, lighting and multimedia. • Organizes maintenance and repair of all stage, sound and multimedia equipment. Administration • Actively participates at all staff and church leadership meetings • Develops the annual budget for worship in conjunction with the church financial team and monitors expenditures to ensure they are within budgetary guidelines. • Oversees procurement of all worship ministry equipment and supplies. • Maintains, organizes, and secures all Church-owned instruments, equipment and supplies. • Ensures compliance with Copyright law. • Delegates to others as appropriate. Growing knowledge and appreciation of various musical styles from the past and present. 8. Demonstrated effectiveness with significant impact as a worship leader. 9. Able to mentor others in love with wisdom and grace.
