- Hours: Part Time, approx. 32 hours/week: Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday, 3:00 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Denver Rescue Mission is seeking candidates for a part-time Security position responsible for supporting the Facility Assistant on duty with the security of property and residents at the Lawrence Street facility. Qualified candidates must be willing to hold to the Christian doctrine of faith of the Denver Rescue Mission.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include: supporting/assisting the Facility Assistant (FA) with: Enforcing the facility rules and implementing disciplinary actions when required; training residents for assigned Work Therapy (WT) positions to ensure that work is accomplished according to the WT Training Manual; conducting nightly inspections of the facility; reporting maintenance issues to the FA on duty or directly to the Maintenance Coordinator (MC) via email; ensuring cleanliness of the facility according to established standards--to include daily cleaning, removal, dispersion or storage of all clutter, trash, parking lot and sidewalk trash etc.; ensuring security of the building, both inside and out, and that shelter participants are confined to overnight sleeping quarters; ensuring that all incidents of which you are made aware, both on and off Denver Rescue Mission property, are properly reported to authorities; ensuring the all incidents within the facility are dealt with in a timely manner, focusing on de-escalation of conflict and the safety of all individuals inside the facility; developing a working knowledge of the Safety and MSDS manuals
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least one year of experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; ability to resolve conflict professionally and respectfully while maintaining composure under pressure; strong Christian ethic with ability to work with people of diverse cultural, educational, and religious backgrounds; basic knowledge of MS Windows software applications
