RSS - A Brief Overview
RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication. RSS feeds give you the opportunity to focus and filter the information that you wish to receive, providing you with automatic updates to content in which you are interested. RSS feeds can include audio files, video files, blog entries, article updates, news updates, etc. Viewing or listening to RSS content requires an RSS reader. There are dozens of RSS feed readers available. Most newer version browsers include RSS feed readers, and there are many stand-alone products also available. Some of the stand-alone products are freeware (free software) and others are shareware (software available for a nominal fee). To subscribe to audio or video feeds, you may need to have a separate RSS reader compatible with these file types. These readers often include the ability to download content to an mp3 player or other audio device.
For more detailed information about RSS Feeds, check out a great FAQ from Google or the wikipedia listing.
