Chinese Student Endowed Scholarship Fund

In 2004, an American-raised Chinese executive and friend of Denver Seminary took our vice president of advancement to his homeland, Hong Kong, and offered to serve as interpreter for visiting alumni, meeting potential givers, connecting with local seminaries and prayerfully assessing our role in equipping leaders for the church in China and Southeast Asia. In 2005, this same executive and his wife agreed to establish an endowed scholarship fund for Chinese students, which would enable them to study at Denver Seminary.

“There is an unprecedented open door for students from the registered church and the underground house church movement in Mainland China to attend schools like Denver Seminary,” states Erik Burklin, president of China Partner and current Denver Seminary student. For this reason, the founders of this fund pray that many others will join them by making gifts to the Chinese Student Endowed Scholarship Fund. Churches, alumni and friends are encouraged to give to support this fund with gifts of any size.

To enable more Chinese students to attend, gifts to endowed scholarship funds like this one are vital for equipping Chinese church leaders.
