"Christian leaders are increasingly a minority in a post-Christian post-modern world. The Christian worldview, values and absolutes, are no longer accepted by the majority in this generation. This requires a greater urgency to raise up vibrant leaders who can face the popular tide with a divine voice, Christ-like character and Spirit-led abilities" -Clyde B. McDowell Clyde B. McDowell served as president of Denver Seminary from 1996-1999 before going home to be with the Lord while in office. Though he served in this capacity for only two and a half years, his legacy lives on through our integrated educational model in which leaders are formed through mentoring relationships, which intentionally form competencies and character along with the academic content. As president, Dr.McDowell also helped Denver Seminary expand its focus to the international level. Today, his dream is becoming a reality.
As Denver Seminary is building a transformational global community to equip leaders from all over the world to think biblically, live faithfully and lead wisely for a lifetime, we are excited to have endowed scholarship funds to underwrite the education of those students, so that they may return to their home countries prepared for ministry and leadership roles. In honor of Dr. McDowell’s love for international students, the Clyde B. McDowell International Student Scholarship Fund was formed in his memory.
