Former Soviet Union
Through the support of generous givers, Denver Seminary began a Russian Student Fund in 1994. In partnership with Donetsk Christian University, Denver Seminary welcomed numerous students from Russia. In the past 12 years, these students, whose passion was to serve in the former Soviet Union, were able to return as missionaries, pastors, theologians and ministry leaders. Today, this fund has been expanded to include students from all of the former Soviet Union. These 15 nations, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan are eager to send their students to Denver Seminary for theological training. In many of these countries, Christians are a very small minority and the need for spiritual transformation is great. It is our hope that this endowment will allow more students to be equipped in sharing the Gospel in their home countries and around the world. To enable more of these students to attend, gifts to endowed scholarship funds like this one are vital for equipping church leaders in these newly-formed nations.
