Haddon W. Robinson Chair

Robinson-Preaching
Biblical Preaching

Dr. Haddon W. Robinson became Denver Seminary's third president in1979, and through his direction, saw the Seminary quickly expand. Dr. Robinson served not only as president, but also as a faculty member until 1992. During his tenure here, he became known as one of the most gifted preachers and communicators in the country. Through the completion of the Haddon W. Robinson Chair, Denver Seminary seeks to continue the legacy of Dr. Robinson by recognizing outstanding teachers or scholars in the area of preaching and thereby solidify the high caliber and reputation of homiletics at Denver Seminary.

The professor selected to occupy this chair will carry the torch of this former president and faculty member and be chosen to exemplify the qualities that best describe Dr. Robinson. This professor's time will be focused on research and teaching in the area of homiletics, working with both current students and graduates. Dr. Robinson advocated the importance of preaching and communication, saying that "a power comes through the word preached that even the inerrant written word cannot replace." Community leaders from Colorado, across the country and around the world, have been impacted through Dr. Robinson's leadership and teaching. This chair seeks to perpetuate that legacy.

The Haddon W. Robinson Chair was launched by Dr. Elias Husni, a medical doctor and one of the many community leaders formed spiritually in part by Dr. Haddon Robinson. As many friends of Denver Seminary have been impacted by the biblical preaching of Dr. Robinson, we continue to invite those friends to make gifts to this fund. Gifts to endowed chairs like this one provide for the salary and benefits of faculty members.
