How do I give to Denver Seminary online?
Making a gift to Denver Seminary online is easy.
First, either click on "Give Online" on the home page or on any of the giving pages. There is also a "Give Online" link at the end of this short tutorial. A new screen will open inside your browser. While it looks like a popup window, it is not; it is a screen "embedded" in the web page from which it was opened.
In this screen, you have the option to "login" -- please do this if you have given a gift or registered for an event with Denver Seminary before. You can also login if you are a member of the Denver Seminary online community using your normal user name and password.
If you have not done any of these things before, you must enter a valid email address into the top box of the embedded window. This email address allows us to send you an email to confirm your gift amount. It also helps us generate an account for you. We will automatically generate a password for your account which will enable you to log into our site. This password is emailed to you with your gift confirmation email, and you can change it at any time.
Fill out the other information on this screen, and please note that fields with an "*" are required. This information is required by the credit card processing company to confirm your identity and that the credit card information you enter is in fact your credit card. Please note that this information must be entered correctly or your credit card will be declined.
Once you have entered all of your information, click "Continue" at the bottom of the screen. You will now see a screen that allows you to determine your gift amount. In the first box enter the amount that you wish to give to the Seminary. Then you will need to select the fund to which you are making the gift -- this is done from the drop down box immediately under the word "Category". The default "category" is the Seminary Fund.
If you have multiple catgories to which you want to make a gift, be sure that the amount box includes only the amount you wish to give to the FIRST category. To add additional amounts and categories to go with those amounts, click the "More Categories" link under the Category drop-down. Additional amount and category boxes will appear. You can give up to three separate amounts to three separate categories. If you wish to give to more than three categories, you may call our office (303-762-6949) to make your gift over the phone, or you may fill out the form multiple times.
Once you have entered an amount and selected a category, you have the option to include a note to the Advancement Team regarding your gift or how you would like it to be processed.
If you would like to make this same gift automatically every month, the final box is for you to enter the day of the month (e.g., 15 for the 15th of each month) on which you would like the amount(s) to be charged to your credit card. This automatic payment can be cancelled at any time through the members section of our web site.
Next, click the "continue" button to go to the credit card information screen. From this screen, you can select the credit card type to which you would like to charge your gift. Denver Seminary accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Enter the required information as it appears on your credit card -- please enter just the numbers for the credit card without spaces or dashes. Be sure to enter information correctly, or your credit card will be declined. On this page you have the option to save your credit card information to the system for future use. You do not need to check this box. If you decide to check it, your credit card information is secure. It is only used for your future gifts, so that there is less information for you to fill in.
Once you have filled in all of your credit card information, click the continue button. This will take you to a screen in which you can confirm your gift. Please confirm that the amount and category are correct, that your name and billing address are correct (remember, it must match the address on file with your credit card's issuing bank) and that correct credit card is listed. You may change the address or credit card information from this screen. If the amount is not correct, please click the "close" link in the top right corner and start over.
Once you click the "Submit Order Now" button, the "embedded" window will close and you will be redirected to your "Me" page of MyDenSem. You will receive an email confirmation of your gift once your credit card has processed. If at anytime you receive an error message that your credit card could not be processed, please check the troubleshooting question at the bottom of this FAQ or send an email to .
