Ways to Give at Year End
Thank you for considering a gift to Denver Seminary. In order to qualify as a gift this year for tax purposes, your contribution must meet the following criteria:
Giving By Mail
Your envelope must be postmarked no later than December 31. Please note that if you drop your envelope in a mailbox after the last scheduled pickup time on the 31st, it will not be postmarked until January and will not qualify as a gift in this year. The date you place on your check is not normally recognized by the IRS as valid proof of your intent to give on a particular date.

Any credit card gifts received through our ONLINE DONATIONS link will be dated according to the time that you submit your completed form. Please be aware that connection glitches can sometimes hinder the transmission of information submitted over the Internet. Because of this, we recommend that you submit your online gift no later than 6:00 pm MST on December 31st to help ensure that it receives a time stamp for this year.
Gifts of Stock
Stocks, bonds, notes or other instruments for which value can be determined in the financial markets should be made payable to Denver Seminary. Donors are encouraged to consult their tax advisor in advance before donating marketable securities. Stock transfers should be made to Denver Seminary's brokerage account:

If the securities are not held in an account with a broker, the unendorsed certificates should be mailed to the attention of the Director of Development and a signed signature guaranteed stock power should be mailed in a separate envelope by registered mail. Gifts of restricted stock cannot be accepted.
Per IRS regulations it is the donor's responsibility to place a value on all gifts of stock based on the date the transfer is completed. To ensure that your gift of stock qualifies as a contribution for this year, please contact your broker and give them enough advance notice to complete the transfer before the end of the calendar year. Stock certificates sent through the mail must have a December 31st postmark per the above guidelines.

Giving By Phone
All offices at Denver Seminary will close at the close of business on December 24 and will not reopen until the next business day after January 1. As a result, if you wish to give by credit card during this time or any other time the Seminary is closed, please use our secure ONLINE DONATION website or contact Jim Howard, VP of Advancement at 303-762-6941 or Since voice mail messages do not leave an auditable communication trail, the Seminary cannot accept donations left on voice mail.
