Front Range Christian School has a unique program for junior and senior high students with special needs called The Learning Center (TLC). This is a self-contained classroom where students complete modified academic courses as well as work on social skills and vocational skills. Students are encouraged to find and use their God-given talents.

This opening is for a part-time teacher first semester, during which you will teach English, math, and science to a small group of junior and senior high school students. Math and English are co-taught with another teacher, and two sections of science will be taught by the qualified candidate. Individualized instruction, differentiated teaching methods, and tracking progress of students’ individual goals are required. Second semester you will become full-time, with the added responsibilities of teaching Bible to both junior and senior high students, and running a vocational class for high school students. As an additional responsibility, the qualified candidate has the potential to become the administrative coordinator for the TLC program, which includes a stipend in addition to the teacher’s salary. Administrative duties include running IEP-type meetings, supervising program teachers and volunteers, meeting with prospective TLC families, and managing the logistics of the program. Training will be provided by the current TLC Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualified applicants must have a degree in special education and have prior experience working with individuals with special needs.
