Description:
Leadership Center Manager – Job Description Overview: The Kalnin Leadership Center (KLC) is the strategic hub for Frontier Labourers for Christ (FLC). We are an evangelistic Christian mission based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and serve the tribal peoples of the Golden Triangle. We reach these culturally rich and diverse peoples with spiritual and physical development. Our whole-person approach takes the Gospel and practical assistance to remote and underdeveloped regions of Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), and Laos. KLC is an attractive brand new facility with over 30,000 square feet of building space, which includes guest rooms, conference space and teaching space, a dining facility, residence space, and a computer lab. The four buildings sit on thirteen acres located only 15 miles from the urban center of Chiang Mai. The facility can house over 130 guests per night within private contemporary-designed rooms, and provides conference space for up to 400 people with full meal service. The property is utilized about 30-40% of the time for FLC training and teaching events. The facility is available the remainder of the time for rent. We can accommodate varying sized groups from local and international ministry and business organizations. Manager Opportunity: The Leadership Center Manager position is an opportunity to launch a new facility, network with people around the world, work in a dynamic cross-cultural setting, and do effective lasting Christian ministry. This position combines hotel management with business development skills, while maintaining the organization’s evangelistic and whole-person development goals. The position is available to an individual or couple. Housing will be provided on-site in a separate private residence and some meals during regularly scheduled activities. The Leadership Center Manager position includes, but is not limited to the following roles: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility for both internal and external clients; whether an FLC function or customers renting the facility. Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing and training staff to demonstrate high-standards of genuine hospitality to exceed guest expectations. Service is at the heart of missions and evangelism. Understands and implements BAM/B4T strategies to balance the missional purpose, with training objectives, while maintaining clear business objectives. Manages all staff: the cooks, maids, grounds keepers, and teaching staff with scheduling and ensuring completion of tasks. The current staff consists of about a dozen full-time and part-time employees. Ensures the facility is run at a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency, and that maintenance is consistent and repairs of the buildings completed. Reports directly to FLC’s Associate Director and Director to guide the staff and plan the schedule. Interacts regularly with the USA Board Chairman for strategic planning and progress. Works with the Accounts Manager to maximize efficient spending and maintain profitability. Networks with the Chiang Mai missionary and business communities to promote KLC and book the facility. Reaches out to international ministries and businesses to come to KLC for their conference functions. Continually seeks ways to improve and develop KLC to make it a world-class conference facility that reaches all people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Position Requirements Be a Christian of good character, active member of a church, and demonstrate a willingness to serve. Skilled in interpersonal relationships and able to work well with multi-cultural staff, workers, and guests. Able to communicate well in English, both speaking and writing. Able to speak Thai, if not currently, will enroll in language courses. Provide references from church leaders and past employers. Significant experience managing staff in hotel/guesthouse/conference center services or similar, including planning, training, execution and follow-up of relevant service activities. Exhibit good negotiation, organization, and inter-personal relationship skills.
