Inauguration of Denver Seminary's Seventh President

"Therefore God exalted him to he highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." ~ Philippians 2:9-11

A distinct group of alumni, board members, current students, staff and friends of the Seminary gathered together on January 30, 2010 to celebrate the inauguration of Denver Seminary’s Seventh President, Dr. Mark Young at Waterstone Community Church. The processional included past seminary presidents, faculty, and delegates from educational institutions nation-wide, preceded by flags representing the many countries Denver Seminary’s students, staff and faculty call home.

With the words of Dr. Vernon Grounds lingering in the air, the crowd was called to worship and celebrate this momentous occasion in Denver Seminary’s 60^th anniversary year. Words of wisdom, humility, humor, and honor echoed through the room as speakers showed their respect and admiration for Dr. Young, and supremely for the Lord. Dr. Young’s address impressed on the hearts of his listeners that as a Seminary, and as Christians, we must remember the lost. This has to be at the center of why we do what we do both as a Seminary and as a body of believers striving to extend the kingdom of God to all who might enter.

The morning proved to be more than a celebration of Denver Seminary’s 60^th anniversary and presidential inauguration. It was a tribute to God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
