Academic Coach at Learning Foundations

Description:
We are looking to hire Master's level coaches who can support students academically with homework, while also empowering them to use their learning style, organize and prioritize work, set and monitor goals, and learn self-advocacy skills to increase their productivity. Learning Foundations recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child. Many students need an individualized approach to learning. We are looking for coaches who can skillfully weave creative and interactive learning techniques into everyday academics through a variety of multi-sensory approaches.
CONNECT AND SUPPORT FAMILY
Coordinate scheduling with family
Post progress notes on Google Docs and share monthly with family and LF administration
Connect with teachers in school (emails/conferences/etc.)
Provide resources to family on learning challenges
Direct families with appropriate organizational/daily task charts
Advocate with families on the process of 504-Plans and IEP’s
WORK ONE-TO-ONE WITH STUDENT
Check Portal Systems with student
Check student planners for tasks/due dates/communication
Organize papers and implement organizational systems
Prioritize workload with student
Complete homework
Track student progress and goals
Teach self-advocacy to students
Introduce and implement technical strategies
Supplement student with additional resources as needed
ADMINISTRATION and TEAM FRAMEWORK
Send progress reports monthly (the 1st of the month)
Track personal expenses, mileage, taxes, hours, and etc.
Attend bi-monthly meetings for training, supervision, and support
TRAINING
Coaches must complete a training plan in areas of dyslexia, ADHD, and a variety of learning styles.) and experience in tut
REQUIREMENTS
Should be extremely organized, responsible, and possess sincere desire to work with children and youth
Facilitate or co-facilitate outreach presentations to youth, parents, guardians, and community members
Maintain program documentation
Participate in all required orientations, trainings, staff meetings, and monthly collaborative meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Master’s degree (or in process) experience with teaching/coaching children and youth
Have expertise in one or more areas of subject knowledge
Professional experience with academic support, coaching, organizational models, learning styles and learning
differences
