  <title>Chillicothe, IL: Associate Pastor at Chillicothe Bible Church</title>
  <description>Responsibilities (in order of priority): 
1.	The Associate Pastor will oversee CBC’s Student Ministry in all of its aspects including: teaching and personally discipling youth, developing and implementing a discipleship and evangelism based vision for Student Ministries, leading the weekly Youth Group gathering, organizing and participating in regularly scheduled outreach events and other activities, and equipping and training adult volunteers.
2.	The Associate Pastor will lead CBC’s Praise Band, plan the weekly worship service(s), and recruit and oversee volunteers for the Worship Ministry Team.
3.	The Associate Pastor will oversee Children’s Ministry, including: recruiting and training Sunday School, Children’s Church, and VBS teachers and volunteers.  
4.	The Associate Pastor will also serve in a variety of other ministry capacities including: overseeing CBC’s small groups, leading a small group, conducting visitor follow-up and leading our new members class, and recruiting teachers for Adult Sunday School. He also may be a member of the Elder Council, and may assist in preaching, weddings, funerals, counseling and other general pastoral tasks as needed, but the assignment of these ministry responsibilities will be dependent on his gifts. 
	Qualifications:
1.	Evidence of a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for ministry.
2.	Demonstrated ability in the areas of evangelism, discipleship and small group ministry.
3.	Musical talent and the ability to lead in worship singing.
4.	A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a four-year college or university. 
5.	Demonstrated strengths in the following areas: interpersonal/people skills; leadership, management and administrative skills; communication skills (written and oral); and problem-solving skills.
6.	Be in agreement with the doctrinal statement of Chillicothe Bible Church and a willingness to submit to the church's by-laws and policies.
7.	A willingness to pursue licensure and/or ordination with the EFCA and to participate in relevant EFCA activities. 
8.	A willingness to spend time with individual congregation members and to be part of their lives as well as to model relationship building with non-Christians. 
9.	Commitment to maintaining an annual average work week of approximately fifty hours (including all facets of ministry), and to communicate to the Senior Pastor and the Church Secretary his whereabouts during office hours (9 AM-5 PM, Tuesday-Friday).
10.	His own household must be in order, and there must be nothing present in his private life that, if known, would bring reproach on himself, the church, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  <title>Anchorage, AK: Associate Pastor at Chapel by the Sea</title>
  <description>WHO WE ARE
Chapel by the Sea is a traditional, non-denominational Bible church located in Alaska’s economic hub and largest city.  Anchorage is an ethnically diverse population of approximately 300,000 people living within a 30 minute drive of the Chapel’s campus.  The Chapel holds a high view of the historic Scripture, and values expository teaching and preaching, supporting and sending local and international missionaries, and pursuing multi-generational discipleship opportunities for those who attend the fellowship.  Our average Sunday School attendance is 130, and attendance in our Sunday morning services averages 235 people.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Pastor uses his spiritual gifts and talents in partnership with the other pastoral staff, elders, and deacons to enable and oversee Chapel ministries.  Even as he pursues his own calling, enlisting and equipping others for works of service is an applied passion.  Specifically these responsibilities will be focused on the areas of music and worship, administration, and as needed, preaching and teaching.  The Associate Pastor should be a man proven by experience with at least 7 years of formal, active pastoral ministry experience with an emphasis in music.  Skill in the application of modern electronic tools to aid in worship is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual Character.     The Associate Pastor’s character qualifies for the office of elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.  

Spiritual Gifts.     The gift mix of pastor/teacher, administration, and mercy-shower are highly valued for the responsibilities of this position at the Chapel.

Formal Training.    At a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry from an accredited Bible college or university is required.  Formal music education is highly valued.

Theological Agreement.   The applicant must read and agree with the Chapel’s purpose and faith statements as outlined in the Chapel by the Sea, Inc. Constitution and Bylaws, edition April 2, 2008.  (Available at www.chapelbythesea.com or in writing by request)

FORMAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Pastoral Care.
•	Shepherding   Demonstrate concern for the total ministry of the church seeking to foster and promote the cause of Jesus Christ and His Gospel.  Seek to remain informed of the spiritual life and programs of the congregation, and in accordance with his spiritual gifts devote himself to expanding the vision and distinctive ministry that God has given him and the church.

•	Counseling   Provide occasional pastoral care to those in personal crisis through visitation, counseling, and prayer.  Make appropriate professional referrals when necessary.

•	Visitation   As needed, visit Chapel families and new attenders in their homes, in the hospital, in nursing homes, etc.

Administrative Oversight.    
•	Music   The position is responsible for budgeting, ordering, organizing, and legal reporting obligations (the Chapel operates under a CCLI license) for the music ministry of the church.

•	Technical support/ equipment   Coordinate with the tech team to budget, order and install audio/visual equipment needed for the worship ministry.

•	Care groups   Coordinate with the senior pastor and other ministry leaders to plan and implement the Chapel’s small group or in-home ministries.

•	Vacation Bible School   Coordinate the annual week-long summer children’s ministry.  This includes helping choose a curriculum, recruiting leadership, facilitating leaders, and generally encouraging church-wide participation.

Worship and Music.    
•	Worship leader  In concert with the Senior Pastor, coordinate and develop all aspects of the weekly worship services including meeting with the choir, worship teams, media tech teams, musicians, ushers and any others participating in leading the weekly Sunday services.  As this position is primarily responsible for the music and congregational singing in our worship services, select and/or review music that graciously considers and reflects the broad musical sensibilities of the fellowship.

•	Choir director   Coordinate all aspects of directing the Chapel Choir including recruitment, training, rehearsing, and presenting.  Prepare the choir for special seasonal ministries and outreaches.

•	Music and Drama coordinator   Disciple people with vocal or instrumental music abilities to utilize their talents in worship with a God-honoring heart.  On occasion find creative opportunities to incorporate drama in special, usually seasonal, presentations.

The Opportunity:  Parkside is a growing church and is committed to ensuring that every individual and family gets connected and is properly cared for. Responsibilities:
