SUMMARY

The Executive Pastor works closely with the Lead Pastor to strategically implement the Christ-centered mission and priorities of NorthField Church. The Executive Pastor oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of the church and manages the church’s resources with integrity. The Executive Pastor leads and equips other ministry leaders for personal growth and ministry effectiveness. The Executive Pastor willingly adapts to complement the Lead Pastor and to fit the changing needs of the church.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

PASTORAL 
•	Loves God, God’s Word, the Gospel of Christ, and people.
•	Has a reputation for leading the life of faith and character required of a pastor in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
•	Fully supports the statement of faith, mission, vision, values, and unity of NorthField Church and represents Christ well in the community.
•	Has demonstrated competency in Christ-centered, Gospel-focused, expository preaching, mentoring, and counseling.
•	Prioritizes and faithfully shepherds his own family.

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE
•	Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in theology, counseling, or a related pastoral field is preferred.
•	Preference given to those who have worked in a church setting for 3+ years and demonstrate familiarity with the demands and requirements of serving full-time on church staff, how church budgets function, and how to develop ministries in a local church setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

ADMINISTRATIVE 
•	Lead staff and volunteers in the implementation and execution of ministries that fulfill the purposes of the Church and meet the needs of the church’s demographic.
•	Ensure the operational readiness of the church by overseeing human resources, budget/finances, supply, calendar, and facilities management.
•	Collaborate with elders, deacons, and treasurer in creating an annual budget that accomplishes the strategic plan for each ministry area and meets critical financial objectives.
•	Establish and maintain a set of key performance measures for all ministry areas.
•	Plan and lead the annual strategic planning process including: evaluation of ministry performance, review of mission/vision/values, development of key objectives and tactics, and establishment of short-, intermediate-, and long-range goals.
•	Increase the effectiveness of ministry leaders by dealing constructively with mistakes and weaknesses, gaps in giftedness, and lack of information or resources.
•	Develop and oversee a communication strategy to optimize the flow of information throughout the church.

SMALL GROUPS
•	Oversee and direct all small group ministries.
•	Discover, develop, equip, and encourage small group leaders, facilitators, and hosts.
•	Provide ongoing training and resources to small group leaders.
•	Develop and oversee strategies and systems to increase small group participation.

OUTREACH
•	Develop and oversee strategies and systems to welcome and assimilate guests.
•	Utilize media, technology, community service, special events, and evangelism to extend the reach and influence of the church.
•	Manage social media outlets, especially the church website and Facebook page.


OTHER PASTORAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning

•	Mission/Vision:
o	Strategize and implement the mission and vision of the church as defined by the senior pastor and elders.
o	Responsible for strategic planning and staff coordination in the execution of Bethel Church’s mission and vision.
o	Help define strategic goals and provide the catalyzing challenges and activities to the staff and elders that allow Bethel Church to remain true to its mission.
o	Facilitates the implementation of strategic goals at each ministry level.
o	Oversee training and development of strategic ministry leaders and ministries in collaboration with the Pastoral Staff.

•	Alignment:
o	Ensure staffing, facilities and programs are appropriately and effectively aligned to best meet strategic goals.
o	Assist in evaluating existing and developing new ministry initiatives.

•	Financial Planning: 
o	Oversee the annual planning and budget processes by leading and equipping the financial team.


•	Ministry:

Responsibilities

Senior Associate Pastor: (expected to be about 75% of his time use)

o	Music teams
o	Sound technicians – video, sound and projection teams.
o	Less frequent but occasional options such as drama, choir and orchestra or other worship-related opportunities.
•	Develop message series with the senior pastor.
•	Develop weekly services around weekly message (i.e. - plan the whole service except for the message).
•	Preach up to 8 times per year (depending on giftedness, senior pastor's vacation or other reasons).
•	Oversee and maintain all tech equipment purchases, installation and operation (audio, video, and camera systems) within budgetary limits.
