  <title>Denver, CO: Sunday Operations Intern at City Presbyterian Church</title>
  <description>The Sunday Operations Intern is responsible, along with the pastoral staff and Consistory, for ensuring that Sunday worship services, classes, etc. operate smoothly. This position requires a regular presence each Sunday and preparation during the week for each Sunday. Weekly hours may increase seasonally (Easter, Christmas, etc.). The position will also provide opportunities to be mentored by the Senior Pastor.  Weekly Responsibilities &amp;bull;	Oversee setup and teardown for weekly worship services. &amp;bull;	Oversee and interact with volunteers running Welcome Table, prayer team, sound team, refreshments, nursery, family ministry, and worship assistants. &amp;bull;	Coordinate with Church Administrator in advance regarding volunteers. &amp;bull;	Set up and provide supplies for Christian Education classes as needed. &amp;bull;	Set up and take down signs for worship services. &amp;bull;	Purchase supplies for worship: communion supplies, coffee, plates, napkins, cups, tea, snacks, sugar, nametags, pens, etc. &amp;bull;	Purchase supplies for nursery: snacks, handy-wipes, etc. &amp;bull;	Provide food and coffee for setup team and other early arrivers. &amp;bull;	Schedule space for worship services on Sundays when regular meeting space is unavailable.  Seasonal Responsibilities &amp;bull;	Schedule space for special worship services such as Good Friday, Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, etc.  &amp;bull;	Move equipment to and from special service sites. &amp;bull;	Decorate space as needed. &amp;bull;	Purchase extra supplies for special seasons. &amp;bull;	Set up and provide supplies for New Members classes, Ministry Leadership Training classes, etc. &amp;bull;	Order food and provide supplies for lunch following the service (parent meetings, Vision Dinner, etc.). &amp;bull;	Provide food and supplies, coordinate with hosts, and ensure setup and teardown for Summer Conversations (approximately 5-6 per summer).  &amp;bull;	Help to coordinate plans for annual Men&amp;rsquo;s and Women&amp;rsquo;s Retreats in conjunction with the staff and Consistory.  Pastoral Opportunities &amp;bull;	Opportunity to teach classes, participate in worship services, etc. will provided based upon determined needs for experience, gifting of the intern, and needs of City Presbyterian Church. &amp;bull;	Opportunity to meet with the Senior Pastor weekly feedback and guidance will be provided.  Requirements Candidate must demonstrate a track record of leadership, a willingness to serve others, and a commitment to working both independently and as part of a team to accomplish objectives. Church experience is a plus but not required. Seminary students who are preparing for pastoral ministry are preferred.   <description>POSITION SUMMARY: Assist in the development, planning, and administration of worship at CCPC; engage in various aspects of pastoral ministry based on time, need for training, gifting, and desire for experience.   RESPONSIBLE TO: Associate Pastor of Worship &amp;amp; Liturgy  PAY STATUS:  Exempt; 15-20 hours per week          ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  1.	Assist the Associate Pastor of Worship &amp;amp; Liturgy in planning and leading services, especially Worship II (our second, convergent service).  2.	Be available for strategic pastoral and worship meetings (e.g. staff meetings, worship planning, Pastors in Progress [PIP], and Worship, Music, &amp;amp; Arts Team meetings).  3.	Help lead musicians in rehearsal and execution of Sunday morning worship services (presupposes strong ability to provide vocal leadership and lead on at least one accompanying instrument).  4.	Utilize music notation software for drafting lead sheets and, on occasion, writing instrumental arrangements.  5.	Shadow pastors in classical pastoral duties: funerals, visitation, and weddings.   6.	Be an active member of PIP, including at least one mentoring relationship with one CCPC pastor.  7.	Handle appropriate administrative responsibilities as assigned.   8.	Participate in monthly meeting with all other CCPC pastoral interns in order to evaluate experiences.      JOB QUALIFICATIONS  1.	Character profile: Spiritual maturity, a special aptitude and passion for planning and leading worship services, particularly in music; a generous spirit, open to a variety of musical and artistic styles and expressions; a love for the Church, and a proven love for Jesus him/herself.  2.	Bachelor&amp;rsquo;s degree in music preferred.  3.	Sense of call to pastoral ministry in the local church.  4.	Comfortable leading congregational music vocally; leading with an accompanying instrument is preferred (e.g. guitar, piano, keyboard).  5.	Willingness to engage in both classical and contemporary music styles across a wide spectrum (depending upon training and ability), and an openness to more liturgical worship in a Reformed and evangelical framework.  6.	Ability to draft lead sheets (words and chords, with melody line) and arrange and notate parts for lead instruments (e.g. violin, oboe); working knowledge of music notation software (preferably Finale).  7.	Work experience requiring effective time management and organizational skills.  8.	Demonstrated effective oral and written communication and interpersonal relationship skills.  9.	Work experience requiring non-routine decision making with regular supervision.    WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS  Normal office environment.  Requires mental alertness and the ability to think and respond quickly.</description>
