YAP's mission is to keep at-risk youth out of institutions and maximize the odds that they will have healthy and productive futures using the support of their family and community members.  YAP has over 130 programs serving 12,000 youth and families per year across 18 states.  The primary responsibilities of an Advocate are to implement and assist in the planning and developing of direct advocacy services to clients and their families with the support of the Director and Staff. This includes but is not limited to assisting with tutoring; ensuring school attendance; developing job skills; connecting families to community resources; broadening the horizons of youth by exposing them to the cultural and educational resources within their communities. Advocates work flexible schedules including days, evenings and weekends. Pay begins at $12 an hour and increases dependent on group time and caseloads. We provide excellent paid training. You must be willing to drive up to 30 miles outside of the Denver County boarder (mileage will be paid for these rare cases).  Qualifications: Prefer applicants in Denver County, high school diploma, valid driver's license, excellent driving record, auto insurance 100/300  and access to a safe, dependable vehicle, appropriate state and federal background checks.   <description>Crossroads of the Rockies is one of the host sights for the Whiz Kids tutoring program.  We have 10+ middle school students on the waiting list who are eager to be paired with a tutor in order to be able to start the program.  This is a great opportunity to form one-on-one, Christ-centered relationships with Denver students who not only need some help with homework, but who also need exposure to Christ's love through good role models.  At Crossroads, middle school Whiz Kids meets every Thursday night from 6:30-8:00.  Tutors generally pick up their students and bring them to program. The program offers counseling, spiritual growth, life-skills training, education, job development and positive role modeling from 24/7 live-in staff. We also work very closely with local churches to connect our people to the body of Christ. This holistic approach helps heal Denver&amp;rsquo;s hurting from the inside out so they can become healthy and self-sufficient members of society. WHAT IS PROVIDENCE HOUSE? Providence House is a 2-year transitional housing program for single men &amp;amp; women. We serve adults recovering from addictions and working toward economic self-sufficiency. This program is operated within a large home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. POSITION SUMMARY: This is a live in staff position in which you will be assigned the case management of up to four male residents. You will be mentoring them, co-creating goal plans and holding them accountable so that they may heal and grow to become self-sufficient. You will be part of a team that works together to build community and implement the Providence Network transitional housing program. You are required to live in the home and will be given your own bedroom and a shared bathroom. Dinners are provided and shared as a community. The home is located at 801 Logan Street in Denver.   <title>Littleton, CO: Volunteer job coach for students with special needs at Front Range Christian School</title>
  <description>Work one-on-one as a job coach with a high school student with special needs. Looking for three volunteers to work with three wonderful male students who are high functioning and are enrolled in the school's Learning Center program. Job coaches will be responsible for driving students to a local business (some may be within walking distance), supervising the student's work, and communicating students' progress to the program coordinator. Job coaches are needed from 12:15 - 2:00 Monday and/or Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity to pour into the life of a student and it does not require much time commitment. Volunteers may serve at any time during our school year (August 23 - May 11), but someone who can serve on a consistent basis would be ideal.</description>

  <description>Friends for Youth Executive Director Job Description Reports to: The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors Summary Friends for Youth is a Christian, faith-based mentoring program serving 275 youth annually in the Denver metro area through one-to-one and group mentoring opportunities. Youth served are ages 10 to 18 years old and primarily referred through Colorado&amp;rsquo;s juvenile justice and child welfare systems. The Executive Director works closely with the Board of Directors as well as the Program Director and program staff to carry out all mentoring programs of Friends for Youth.   <description>Parents of a great 27 year old young adult male with cognitive delay special needs looking for individual who has a sense of humor, is responsible, organized and calm, to spend time (friend, not caretaker) with our son doing educational and extracurricular activities. We prefer 1st year male students that will have at least two years left at the Seminary or individuals that can commit to two years or more. Our son loves doing activities such as: running track, bicycle riding, horseback riding, athletic events, all types of music, being with his friends, attending concerts and going on hikes. He takes karate and participates in Praying Hands therapeutic horseback riding drill team; works at Jason&amp;rsquo;s Deli and has a GREAT sense of humor. Support person would support in the areas of reading and academic practice; reinforcing life skills such as laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping; social skills; transportation to various activities and community skills such as independence in his neighborhood. Educational training and support will be provided to individual who fills this position. Individual becomes part of an extended team of other professionals: Therapist, reading therapist and speech therapist along with other facilitators who are Denver Seminary students or strong Christians. A few nights a week, approximately 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Family and Son&amp;rsquo;s residences located in the Denver Tech Center, I 25 &amp;amp; Belleview area.
