Pittsburgh, PA: Intentional Community and Spiritual Formation Residency at Formation House

More details on our eleven month training cycle, and the initial application, are on our website, www.formationhouse.org. We are a small, multidenominational, training center for intentional community and Christian spiritual formation. If you looking for mentoring opportunities where you will share life together with other adults engaged in Christian intentional community, your next step may be a Formation House residency! “Gather at the table” - whether sharing meals, prayer times, or community life training sessions, the common life of Formation House is all around tables. And the majority one’s learning simply flows out of experiences in sharing daily life: praying, eating, and serving. - led by an on-site Core Group (including Fuller alum, Rev. Karen Sloan ‘04) - weekly classroom sessions covering essential skills for community life (healthy relationship dynamics, leadership, communication) - daily spiritual formation via prayer and scripture times - located in Pittsburgh, PA - runs mid August to late July Costs and compensation during the residency varies for every person. The most popular financial arrangement involves having all expenses covered, plus benefits and a $5,000 credit towards student loan repayment. Those who complete the residency, incorporate Formation House training into their future goals of providing leadership at established worshipping communities, or coordinating with friends to start new Christian intentional communities. What friends are saying ~ Karen Sloan is a wise and insightful woman. She is helping the Church rediscover the lost art of spiritual formation. I hope that a generation from now, thanks to folks like Karen and Formation House, we will see a Church filled, not just with believers, but with followers of Christ. After all, Jesus sent us into the world not just to make believers, but to form disciples. ~ Shane Claiborne, www.thesimpleway.org Formation House is an experiment in turning a year of service into a year of holistic formation for a life of service. If you're not only interested in doing something, but also in becoming a different kind of person, this could be the experience for you. ~ Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, www.newmonasticism.org Learn more and apply at - www.formationhouse.org

Fayetteville, Arkansas: Student Leader Strategies Team at Campus Ministry Toolbox

Student Leader Strategies Team Overview There are three distinct audiences that CMT serves when supplying strategies and resources for Campus Ministry. One of those audiences is Student Leaders. These are students that already have an active ministry on a particular campus, but may not be a part of a greater ministry organization, or have staff assigned to their campus. Purpose of Position The Student Leader Strategies team has the role to serve, envision, and equip these Campus Ministry Leaders (CMLs). The goal will be to help these student leaders become more effective in building EDM communities of faith on campus (evangelism, disciple-making, missions mobilization) to help to fulfill the Great Commission and spread God’s glory to the nations. Range of Positions Within the Student Leader Strategies Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires at least some experience in college ministry Senior Staff- requires a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Vision Statement: Serving the Body of Christ by blessing, catalyzing, and synergizing campus ministries worldwide and providing the best tools, strategies, and resources so that every campus has a community of Christ followers who passionately engage in evangelism, disciple-making, and mobilize students for global missions. Time commitment 40+ hours a week, depending on weekly schedule, travel and “all hands on deck” events for CMT. Responsibilities 1) Research Strategies- There are unique obstacles to Student Leaders when reaching out to their fellow college students, so as a part of your role, you will be the thought and research leader in the strategies to over come these obstacles and help these CMLs be as effective as possible in transforming their campus to be a sending base for the church into all nations. 2) Developing New Tools- As a leader in this field of ministry you not only want to be a part of getting the best tools and strategies into the hands of Student Leaders, but you want to use the experience that you already have, and the experience that you glean over time to develop new tools that you can quickly get into the hands of your audience to try out. (Field testing will be one of the greatest strengths of this team, and one of the greatest contributions to CMT Research and Development in general) 3) Contribute to the Newsletter- Although the Advancement team will be in charge of writing monthly newsletters to our CMT supporters, and the Research and Development team will be in charge of writing our weekly blog entries, both will be looking to you and the other Strategies Teams to supply them with the stories, tools, and strategies from the field that people really love to hear about. 4) Coaching Student Leaders – Having a campus as your mission field can at times feel very lonely and overwhelming, especially if you’re not a part of a specific ministry or don’t have any full time staff from your ministry. In these cases, having someone volunteer to coach you and support you in your ministry is critical in keeping you going. This is what you will do for these people all across the nation, limited only to the number by people on your team. 5) Recruiting- Because we want to be able to coach as many Student Leaders that request our help it is important that we are consistently recruiting qualified coaches to join our team, and aid in the efforts to provide these ministers with the skills and resources that they need. The role of recruiting will fall primarily to the Director, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to assist with this as well. 6) Workshops- One of the best ways for us to be able to train student leaders is by developing half day and full day workshops, equipping them with the skills, tools, and strategies that we’ve been working on researching and developing. These must truly be high value workshops that really meet the pressing needs of CMLs. These workshops can take place all over the nation, and once a sufficient size team has been recruited (at least 3-5 people) then follow up opportunities and coaching relationships can be established to help Student Leaders handle the natural obstacles that come from implementing new ministry strategies. (The Research and Development team will take the lead in creating the workshop materials from the content you supply them) 7) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. We desire the spouses of all office staff to participate in these times as well. -	We also have a passion to continue developing our staff, and when all possible, include the spouse in personal development as well. This plays out in monthly book readings, a weekly meeting that varies from book discussions to listening to guest speakers, and even a monthly half day of prayer. -	We expect all of our staff to be above reproach in all walks of their life. As a part of your development you will take the best of the best of CMT materials and shape it into content that can be expressed in several different 30min to 1 hour workshops (depending on the venue/conference and the special ministry needs that they have). 7) Recruiting- Finding both volunteers and full-time staff that thrive and excel in areas of research and writing will enable this team to thrive in accomplishing its goals. Recruiting is primarily the responsibility of the Director, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to provide as much assistance as possible. 8) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income.
Fayetteville, Arkansas: Church/Volunteer Strategies Team at Campus Ministry Toolbox

Church/Volunteer Strategies Team Overview There are three distinct audiences that CMT serves when supplying strategies and resources for Campus Ministry. One of those audiences is Church-based leaders. These are college pastors, denominational collegiate staff or volunteers that have a heart to reach out to college students. Many times these leaders have very little experience, training, or resources for campus ministry. They usually welcome a specialist who will serve them and improve their effectiveness. Purpose of Position The Church/Volunteer Strategies Team has the role to serve, envision and equip these Campus Ministry Leaders (CMLs). The goal will be to help churches become more effective in building EDM communities of faith on campus (evangelism, disciple-making, missions mobilization) to help to fulfill the Great Commission and spread God’s glory to the nations. Range of Positions Within the Church/Volunteer Strategies Team there exist three levels of responsibility as determined by experience: Staff- requires at least some experience in college ministry Senior Staff- requires a minimum of 2 years college ministry experience Director- requires a minimum of 4 years college ministry experience CMT Vision Vision: components 1) a return to Evangelism, Discipleship and Missions/Mobilization (EDM) on campus 2) blessing, catalyzing and synergizing force in campus ministry worldwide, 3) more students mobilized for world evangelization as a result of the tools, strategies, resources of CMT. Responsibilities 1) Research Strategies- There are unique obstacles to Churches and Volunteers when reaching out to college students, so as a part of your role you will be the thought and research leader in the strategies that will over come these obstacles and help these people be as effective as possible in reaching out to college students. 2) Developing New Tools- As a leader in this field of ministry you not only want to be a part of getting the best tools and strategies into the hands of Churches and Volunteers, but you want to use the experience that you already have, and the experience that you glean over time to develop new tools that you can quickly get into the hands of your audience to try out. (Field testing will be one of the greatest strengths of this team, and one of the greatest contributions to CMT Research and Development in general) 3) Church/Para-church Advocate- At times in the past there has been suspicion, territorialism, and little cooperation, but this is changing. Para-church specialists have developed most of the tools and strategies and are beginning to serve, share and cooperate with the larger Body of Christ. Many churches have developed vibrant college ministries and have more to offer than ever to the task of reaching the campus to reach the nations for Jesus. We need each other, God desires our unity and cooperation (Jn 17:21-23). You will find new ways of promoting cooperation, synergy, sharing of tools and strategies so that Christ’s Kingdom spreads to hundreds of new campuses. 4) Contribute to the Newsletter- Although the Advancement team will be in charge of writing monthly newsletters to our CMT supporters, and the Research and Development team will be in charge of writing our weekly blog entries, both will be looking to you and the other Strategies Teams to supply them with the stories from the field that people really love to hear about. 5) Coaching Churches and Volunteers- Many churches that have college pastors are still hungry for outside help and consultation to help them become more effective in developing ministry to college students. The potential for coaching churches and volunteers is nation-wide and limited only by the number of people on our team. 6) Recruiting- Because we want to be able to coach as many churches and volunteers that request our help it is important that we are consistently recruiting qualified coaches to join our team, and aid in the efforts to provide these ministers with the skills and resources that they need. The role of recruiting will fall primarily to the Director, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to assist with this as well. 7) Workshops- One of the best ways for us to be able to train churches and volunteers is by developing half day and full day workshops, equipping them with the skills, tools, and strategies that we’ve been working on researching and developing. These workshops can take place all over the nation, and once a sufficient size team has been recruited (at least 3-5 people) then follow up opportunities and coaching relationships can be established to help churches and volunteers handle the natural obstacles that come from implementing ministry strategies. (The Research and Development team will take the lead in creating the workshop materials from the content you supply them) 8) Support- This role, like all of our other staff roles, requires raising personal ministry support for personal income. Each staff needs to raise and maintain healthy support. We will train and help you as you put together a team of financial supporters. Relationships -	Part of the Center for Missions Mobilization (basically USCWM and The Body Builders (TBB) in Fayetteville) -	The Director reports to CMT Director directly. Indirectly reports to Steve Shadrach. Peer relationships with other Body Builder directors -	The Director is coached by CMT Director -	Staff and Senior Staff report to the Director and are in turn coached by him/her -	Works closely with Vision 7:9, and Support Raising Solutions staff -	Maintaining consistent communication with the Advancement and R&D team Team Environment and Personal Development -	The BB does several things to foster community within our staff. This includes monthly meals together, annual staff retreats for the whole family, corporate and personal prayer time, and weekly prayer and worship times. We never want to be detached from those we serve. Results -	Consistently devising and discovering new strategies and tools for campus ministry (3-4 per month) -	Consistently supplying the R&D team with content as well as stories for the blog and website (2-3x/mo) -	Consistently supplying the Advancement Team with stories for the newsletter (1 per month) -	Developing new relationships with Churches and Volunteers (a minimum of 5 new key contacts developed per month) through networking, referrals, website, new clients etc. -	A growing team of Church/Volunteer Strategies Staff -	Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) Benchmarks -	Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on support goal and personal circumstances -	Be fully transitioned by summer 2012 Skill Requirements Experience in college ministry (preferable church and para-church experience), people skills, writing, teaching, and communication skills, well organized, a good networker (a pre-existing network amongst churches is a plus), able to do tedious research, loves to be “in the know” about things, creativity in information synthesis, team recruiting skills (for Director only) as well as leadership, team player, self starter, personally motivated, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. Responsibilities 1) Research Strategies- There are unique obstacles to Campus staffs when reaching out to college students, so as a part of this team, you will be the thought and research leader in the strategies to over come these obstacles and help these CMLs be as effective as possible in transforming their campus to be a sending base for the church into all nations. 2) Developing New Tools- As a leader in this field of ministry you not only want to be a part of getting the best tools and strategies into the hands of campus staff, but you want to use the experience that you already have, and the experience that you glean over time to develop new tools that you can quickly get into the hands of your audience to try out. 4) Coaching Campus staff – Working on a Campus can be a very lonely thing. If you are the only staff from your ministry for miles around, or if you don’t even have a greater ministry organization that you are a part of to support you, then having someone to consult with on your ministry is critical in keeping you going. This is what you will do for these people all across the nation, limited only to the number of people on your team. 5) Recruiting- Because we want to be able to coach as many Campus staff that request our help it is important that we are consistently recruiting qualified coaches to join our team, and aid in the efforts to provide these ministers with the skills and resources that they need. The role of recruiting will fall primarily to the Director, but Staff and Senior Staff are encouraged to assist with this as well. 6) Workshops- One of the best ways for us to be able to train campus staff is by developing half day and full day workshops, equipping them with the skills, tools, and strategies that we’ve been working on researching and developing. These workshops can take place all over the nation, and once a sufficient size team has been recruited (at least 3-5 people) then follow up opportunities and coaching relationships can be established to help Campus staff handle the natural obstacles that come from implementing new ministry strategies. One step we have taken to ensure all men are protected from the temptation of internet pornography is by installing Covenant Eyes web tracking software on all personal and work computers to. - We also keep each other accountable in our personal relationship with Christ by praying for each other and sharing struggles with each other. -CMT will also seek to develop our staff through a Personal Development Plans and bi-annual feedback on job performance -	We ask that all staff spend time in actual campus ministry investing in students lives, testing ideas, learning more about campus ministry. We never want to be detached from those we serve. Results - Consistently devising and discovering new strategies and tools for campus ministry (3-4 per month) - Consistently supplying the R&D team with workshop content as well as stories for the blogs (1 per week) - Consistently supplying the Advancement Team with stories for the newsletter (1 per month) - Developing new relationships with Campus staff (4-5 new relationships per month) - A growing team - Job satisfaction, team ethos, and performance of CMT staff (more intangible) Benchmarks -	Raise full support in 4-12 months depending on support goal and personal circumstances -	Be fully transitioned by summer 2012 Skill Requirements Experience in college ministry, people skills, teaching and speaking skills, organizational skills, networking skills (a pre-existing network among campus staff is a plus), patience and persistence in research, creativity in information synthesis, team recruiting skills (for Director only) as well as leadership, team player, self starter, personally motivated, passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions. All receipting of financial gifts and management of donors is provided by the BB. Location This position is located in Fayetteville AR.

La Mirada, CA: President at Far East Broadcasting Company

Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC), which broadcasts Christ-centered radio programs across Asia and the former Soviet Union, is currently seeking its next President. Based in La Mirada, California, the next leader will guide FEBC as it leverages a large, established media network to reach people’s minds and hearts through ways both old and new. FEBC is embracing new distribution networks such as satellite, internet, cellular, .mp3 audio and social networking to fulfill the Great Commission. Although the methods have changed, the message does not. The next President of FEBC must have a passion for evangelism and a mature dependence on the Lord. Founded in 1948, FEBC is directly responsible for programming, broadcasting and assistance to 21 countries, and FEBC collaborates and coordinates closely with its partner, FEBA, in the provision of broadcasting and programming to 29 additional countries. The various entities are united by the FEBC global mission and their historic international partnership. This partnership has grown FEBC to broadcasting in more than 130 languages – totaling 700+ hours of programming per day. FEBC has succeeded first and foremost due to God’s blessing and in part because each radio station is imbedded in the community, broadcasting in the native tongues of the listener and spoken by indigenous voices. A priority will be to continue FEBC’s progression from being a “corporate headquarters” to a resource center for affiliates. Travel will be significant as the new President gets to know the leaders of the international affiliates and partners with them to achieve their missions. Also key will be refreshing the donor base and approaches used for fund-raising. The new leader must capture the minds and hearts of a younger generation of donors and understand that they think differently than those who supported FEBC in its earlier days. The President must collaborate with leaders of international affiliates to capture the ears of a new generation of listeners who hear programming not just through radio but through the Internet, on mobile devices and in a variety of other ways. Through this collaboration, the new President will grow FEBC from its roots as a radio broadcasting company to a media-savvy organization. The successful candidate must be in tune with the quickly evolving new world of media and able to create and constantly revise a modern media strategy. To continue the discovery process, view the full Opportunity Profile at http://www.febc.org/presidential-search and contact Tommy Thomas or Laura Coverstone at SIMA International as outlined in the Process of Candidacy.
