Erie, CO: Senior Pastor at Life Song Church

Life Song Church of Erie, Colorado is seeking a full-time pastor to begin in early Fall 2013.
Life Song Church
Life Song is a 12-year old evangelical church in suburban Colorado, North of Denver and East of Boulder with an average weekly attendance of 80. Our approach to church is “Life together in Jesus,” living out the Word of God together with a love founded in Jesus and a Biblical faith. As we send our founding pastor and his family to the mission field in Ireland, we are seeking a shepherd/teacher to lead us in the next phase of our mission in Erie.
Pastor’s Job Description
The pastor will serve Life Song Church alongside the existing elder team shepherding the congregation, teaching, providing administration, and equipping the saints for their personal works of service and evangelism. He will provide leadership to the various ministry teams of the church, particularly in the areas of prayer and outreach. The Pastor is expected to grow into leadership in most of these areas over time but is not expected to excel in every area from the outset. The pastor will also lead the corporate worship or coordinate with a professional worship leader. The opportunity is offered for mentoring with the founding pastor for up to one year as he transitions to the mission field.
Qualifications:
The pastor must love God and the church and see his life as ministry. The Bible also requires an elder to be a mature Christian man who is above reproach, trusts God more than self, has a healthy family life and is able to teach.
The pastor must have a shepherd’s heart, as we are a people bound together by relationships, not tradition or programs. The candidate needs to be firm in his doctrinal convictions while loving people with diverse backgrounds. He must also value the whole church of God, for while we are affiliated with the Longs Peak Baptist Association (SBC), we cooperate with a broad range of local churches. We require a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of church ministry experience - or a Masters of Divinity.
Northern Colorado is difficult to evangelize. Many churches fail for lack of appreciation of the challenges of a culture that is spiritually ‘open’ while at the same time increasingly indifferent about Christianity. The pastor must be experienced in a similarly post-Christian suburban culture, preferably in the Western U.S.
We invite you to send us your resume and a letter of introduction, including a description of your call to ministry. If we think you might be a good fit with our body and mission, we will send you an application. Email submissions are encouraged. We believe that when one people ask one God one question, they will receive one answer. Please join us in prayer, seeking God’s direction for your ministry and ours.
Thank you for your service to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

If you feel called to just such a ministry, we'd like to talk with you. The discernment process can take 1-2 years. Therefore it would be completely appropriate to reach out in your 2-3 year of Seminary. If things move forward, we would work with you to determine a planting location on the Front Range. You would also receive financial support, training & coaching over a multi-year period.

Wichita, KS: Church Planter at West Evangelical Free Church

Are you a man, called by God to plant a church?

West Evangelical Free Church has been called to multiply churches that multiply churches. We see the sharing of the gospel as having an outcome of a planted church. Our strategy for doing that is to find called, qualified men to plant a church and be its founding pastor. We do this by offering a year of residency for the future church planter, during which time that person will pick their Missional Focus Area (a locational area or a group of people) and develop a Core Team. They will share the gospel with people in that Missional Focus Area and invite people to Christ and to be part of the new church. This allows for reaching greater Wichita with the gospel.

If you have been called by God or have a sense God is directing you to church plant, we would love to get you involved in our assessment process. You can go to www.churchplanterprofiles.com/cake/ to access our initial screening assessment page, register (make sure you check “West Evangelical Free Church” as the agency) and then take the initial screening assessment. You’ll also be able to submit a resume for our review after you fill out your initial assessment. This will start the dialogue between us and move you toward the “immersion assessment.” There are many written assessments along the way, some interviews, and some doctrinal discussions. If you are called by God in this area, we want to explore how we might best partner with you in planting churches that multiply churches to reach greater Wichita, Kansas with the gospel.

You can check out www.cpwichita.org to find out more about the WEFC Church Plant Residency. We are working toward an onsite assessment date in April 2013 with the start of residency beginning September 2013.
