Hope and Healing for Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse

Few of us have not been impacted in some way by child sexual abuse. We may have contact with family members, friends, coworkers or women at church or in the community who have been abused, or even be survivors ourselves. In this seminar, symptoms commonly experienced by adult survivors of sexual abuse will be described, and the process of healing discussed. While the topic is painful, the emphasis will be on the hope we have in Christ as the One who can bring wholeness and healing.

Spiritual Warfare

Dr. Doug Groothuis discusses the idea of spiritual warfare at Denver Seminary's Women's Forum: The Bible speaks much of world of angels and demons, yet most American Christians read past these references without taking them seriously. Others develop unbiblical views of the spiritual realm based on fantastic testimonies or other unreliable sources. But the Christian needs a proper understanding of their relation to the world of angels and demons in order to faithfully serve God. To that end, this lecture discusses the basics of spiritual warfare for Christians today.

Spiritual Formation: What Is It Anyway?

We’re told we really need it. And, intuitively, we know this is true. But what is it and how are we formed? We can increase our understanding and our intentional embrace of the process of being formed into Christ-likeness. The answer lies closer than we may think. We all need to step back and consider a larger view, a bigger picture, of the conflicts and tensions of our lives, and to ask how God may be guiding us from "Tension to Transformation."
