NayaLife Community Church is a multicultural church serving Denver and Aurora's international community. A majority of our work is done with the city's Bhutanese-Nepali refugees. In the last two years, we've been blessed to see revival spreading among this predominantly Hindu community. Through house churches, outreach events, community service and education, we are finding whatever ways we can to spread the love of Jesus. Our congregation has grown rapidly to include Indians, Nepalis, Bhutanese, Pakistanis, Eritreans, and Americans.
Our youth ministry, Make a Move Youth, currently is made up entirely of Bhutanese-Nepali teens who speak English as a second language. We have some youth workers from the community, but we need some American youth workers with a better understanding of ministry mechanics as well to help running the youth ministry, discipling our current workers (who are all new Christians), youth ministry logistics, and also (if possible) with transportation as all the kids are bus/van ministry based. It would probably be a 1-3 times a week commitment for a few hours depending on your availability. We need someone with a heart for teens, especially teens from other nations. A heart for Hindus and South Asians is even better, as is anyone with music experience (especially drums). We deal with a wide range of kids and we need someone who can be patient nurturing the extra-grace-needed kids while encouraging those on fire for Jesus to grow healthy. It's a great opportunity to practice for anyone planning on doing missions. Being comfortable talking to strangers is a huge help in this area of ministry, and you must be willing to spend a little time where the kids live along East Colfax (if you're female, don't worry. You need to be a little adventurous, but we won't put you in a dangerous situation or send you out alone).
In turn, we will find ways to bless you back. Let us know what areas of youth ministry you're interested in learning more about, and we will do whatever we can to make sure you get that experience. We'll also fatten you up with pizza, donuts, and mountain dew. Also, Youth Pastor Dave is a mean cook. Just sayin'.
If you'd like to find out more, contact the email below and come visit us for either our Sunday Service or one of our house church meetings. You can also visit our youth ministry on Wednesday nights. The house church meetings can be a very Book of Acts experience among people who face genuine persecution when they become Christians. It's changed all of our lives. God bless!
