Denver Seminary Appoints New VP of Advancement

Denver Seminary is pleased to announce that Dr. Jim Howard has accepted the position of Vice President of Advancement. He will assume the role on March 15, 2010.
Dr. Howard’s passion is a blend of theological education in a global context and leadership. He entered the corporate world after serving in the nuclear Navy. He has many years experience in the corporate setting in nuclear engineering, auditing, and finance. Transitioning into higher education in the second part of his career, he also has many years experience in higher education leadership, missions, and pastoral leadership.
Dr. Howard’s experience includes internal auditing, Chief Financial Officer, academic leadership, classroom instruction, curriculum development, strategic planning, enrollment management, pastoral care, board governance, and mentoring. He served with Cadence International in Germany as Director of the Mannheim and Darmstadt Hospitality Houses, Colorado Christian University as Director for the Denver Tech Center and, most recently, as Pastor of Community Life and Missional Strategy for South Suburban Christian Church.
Dr. Howard serves as chairman of the board for Cadence International, an international mission that exalts Christ through the nations through the lives of transformed military people, and as chairman of the finance and audit board committee for Eagle Projects International, a Christian ministry focused on the spiritual and physical needs of communities around the world assisting them in their development and expansion. He travels regularly to India and Nepal, working with and teaching at institutions of theological education in both countries. He continues to write and speak on issues in theological education and biblical studies in a variety of contexts, both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Howard has a BCM in Christian ministries from Colorado Christian University, a BS in business and an MBA in finance and accounting from Regis University, and a ThM and PhD in New Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Jim and Nancy enjoy spending time with their four children and three grandchildren and most anything outdoors in Colorado: skiing, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, traveling, walking, and biking.
