Denver Seminary to host the International Conference on Mentoring

Denver Seminary will host the International Conference on Mentoring April 3-5, 2008.   The theme of this year's conference  is  "Maturing in Mentoring,"  featuring keynote speaker,  Rev. Dr. Roberta Hestenes.  As an internationally known speaker, Rev. Dr. Hestenes has addressed and consulted with hundreds of organizations and churches throughout the United States and around the world.  She has also served as president of Eastern College, Chair of the Board of World Vision International and on the faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary.

The conference will provide a variety of workshops for those involved in mentoring, including "Mentoring Creatively," "Gender Issues in Mentoring" and "Essentials for Launching and Leading a Mentoring Program."

The International Conference on Mentoring exists to extend Denver Seminary's vision by empowering effecting mentoring cultures in every ministry setting. Fresh mentoring initiatives are emerging all around the globe, both formally and informally, bringing new questions and challenges to our ongoing mentoring relationships. Whether you are just beginning to step out into a mentoring role or far along on the mentoring journey, "maturing in mentoring" demands rich, creative resources that will encourage mastery and ground us theologically both as mentors and mentees.

Dr. Don Payne, Associate Dean and director of the Training and Mentoring Program at Denver Seminary adds, "the International Conference on Mentoring provides a stimulating growth opportunity for mentors, mentees, and leaders of mentoring programs.  We explore the latest challenges and resources in mentoring, share best practices, and encourage each other in this vital form of ministry."

Join us as together we learn how to mentor effectively in an increasingly complex world where God continues to develop people through mentoring relationships. Seminaries, schools, churches, para-church ministries, mentors and students are all encouraged to attend.  Early registration rates are now available on the Denver Seminary website at http://www.denverseminary.edu/event/2008-04-03-international-conference-on-mentoring/.  This event is co-sponsored by the International Christian Mentoring Network.

Denver Seminary seeks to glorify God by equipping leaders to think biblically, live faithfully and lead wisely for a lifetime. Founded in 1950, Denver Seminary is an interdenominational, evangelical graduate seminary serving men and women from around the world.  In its 57 year history, the seminary has gained the reputation as one of the top twenty schools in size among accredited, graduate-level seminaries in the U.S. and Canada and is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  Currently, almost 900 students are enrolled in our Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Ministry degree programs.  For more information about Denver Seminary, please visit http://www.denverseminary.edu/.
