God has given OMF International a heart for Asia and the desire to bring his hope to billions. Follow-up ministry with OMF International (U.S.) works with God to promote his heart for the world and respond to Christians within the U.S. interested in learning more about missions and how to take further steps on involvement with what God is doing in East Asia. The Assistant Follow-up Coordinator has primary responsibility to faithfully communicate with, encourage and nurture those interested in serving in missions. Major Responsibilites Invest in the lives of those interested in being involved with God in East Asia: • Through prompt phone and e-mail correspondence, humbly invest in the lives of Christians in the U.S. to encourage them to purposefully seek their role in God’s plan for the nations • Guide and equip inquirers in discovering their role in God’s plan, whether overseas or within the U.S., and give them practical next steps of ministry. • Keep up-to-date, accurate, detailed records of correspondences with all inquirers and assist in the oversight and development of the OMF International (U.S.) on-line personnel database. • Communicate occassionally with overseas missionary leaders to determine possible placement opportunities for serious inquirers. • Maintain clear and effective communication with all members of the Follow-up Team and others as necessary in order to professionally process inquirers and thoroughly answer their questions. Assist the Follow-up Coordinator to implement key procedures: • Assist the Follow-up Coordinator in creating procedures and templates to ensure that everyone within the mobilization network is communicating clearly with inquirers. • Assist the Follow-up Coordinator in training mobilization personnel in the overall follow-up process and ensure that all follow-up of inquirers is done in an effective, professional and God-honoring manner. • Assist the Follow-up Coordinator in training mobilization personnel in responding to and processing inquirers through OMF International’s on-line personnel database. Strategically networking for needs in East Asia: • Truthfully and compellingly represent the ministry and vision of OMF International to various regional audiences: churches, constituents, students, alumni, etc. • Promote and coordinate the publication of essential overseas and local missions opportunities on websites, mission boards, Christian schools and other like-minded ministries. • Visit different countries in East Asia to better understand the overall ministry and the urgent and strategic needs to bring the gospel to East Asia. Qualifications • Love for Jesus Christ and growing relationship with him. • A self-starter and motivator; ability to proactively plan and work with minimal supervision. • A humble heart to invest in others preparing to serve God in missions. • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple logistics at a given time. • Proficient computer skills including general Microsoft Office applications and personnel databases, preferred experience in: o accurate and quick word-processing skills and o web-based data entry (HTML helpful). • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills. • A teachable spirit and flexible attitude. • Ability to relate to staff at all organizational levels; ability to work on a team. • Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships. • Experience working with personnel of all ages, denominations and ethnicities. • Passion for East Asia and reaching its peoples for God’s glory. • Experience in cross-cultural missions preferred.
