Description:

God has given OMF International a heart for Asia and the desire to bring his hope to billions. Before OMF International missionaries can begin their overseas or homeside ministry, they must reach full financial and prayer support. The Partnership Development Coach has the primary responsibility to provide coaching, accountability, encouragement and on-going training to missionaries and homestaff in the specific area of raising and maintaining a solid partnership (financial and prayer) base. Major Responsibilities Provide essential coaching and on-going training to missionaries and homestaff: • Communicate through weekly phone calls to discuss their partnership development progress, keeping accurate records within the personnel database of each conversation. • Pray regularly for each missionary or staff they are coaching and make sure they are praying regularly themselves. • Hold missionaries and homestaff accountable to partnership development goals and encourage them to move forward, in faith, in new areas. • Coach missionaries and homestaff through partnership development questions and issues as they arise and challenge poor partnership development mindsets and attitudes. • Talk with missionaries and homestaff’s Home Ministry Team Leader(s) in order to build community and comradeship with this vital support system. • Through monthly group phone calls, provide excellent on-going training to missionaries and homestaff who are raising their prayer and financial support. • As necessary, assist in the initial partnership development training process, including but not limited to: biblical basis, communicating the value of their ministry, keeping good records, doing excellent presentations, thorough follow-up and continual partner maintenance after full support is raised. • In a timely manner, read and respond to weekly reports and prayer letters and communicating with their supervisor or their Missionary Appointee Coach as necessary. • Keep OMF International’s Regional Team and other key ministries informed about missionaries and homestaff in their region that are raising support in order to provide local opportunities for them to share and expand their ministry as well as connect with others within OMF International. Work to implement new ideas and movements in partnership development: • With the rest of the Partnership Development Team, develop and maintain effective on-going training programs and materials so that OMF International continues to grow and learn and best maximize what we are doing in training and coaching in partnership development. • Attend occasional trainings and seminars to continue to learn about how other organizations do partnership development and help their missionaries and staff do so adequately and within a timely manner. • Summarize each missionary or homestaff’s time of partnership development in order for OMF International to learn and see trends in the process. Send completed report to the Missionary Appointee Coach. Qualifications • Love for Jesus Christ and growing relationship with him. • Passion for East Asia and reaching its peoples for God’s glory. • Experience in coaching others toward their personal goals. • An organized and pastoral heart; ability to train and encourage others in doing vital ministry. • A self-starter and motivator; ability to proactively plan and work. • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills. • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and personnel databases. • Ability to relate to staff at all organizational levels. • Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships. • Demonstrate experience working with people of all ages, denominations and ethnicities. • Experience in raising financial support preferred. Compensation The salary for this position is partially “support-based.” This means that similar to most OMF International U.S.-based mobilization personnel, the Partnership Development Coach is asked to raise half of the budget for the position’s salary. This decreases the amount of finances our cross-cultural missionaries need to contribute to our U.S. ministry. The salary range for this position is need-based, generally between $2,000 and $4,000 per month. OMF International will provide training and a personal mentor to guide you through the support-raising process.
