Parking Permits

All Denver Seminary students, faculty and staff are required to display the appropriate parking permit on the front, passenger-side windshield of their vehicle while parking in campus parking lots. Distinct, color-coded permits are required for students, students who live in the campus apartments, and Seminary employees (full time faculty, staff and associated faculty). These permits are valid for one academic year (the year is printed on the permit), and a new permit must be obtained annually. A permit is required for each vehicle a member of the Seminary community parks on-campus. 

  • Students: New students will receive a parking permit application form during new student orientation. Applications for continuing students are available by email attachment sent prior to the beginning of the fall semester, or at the Information Reception Desk in the lobby of the Graber Administration building (business hours Mon.-Fri. 8:00am-4:30pm). The completed application is to be submitted, along with the appropriate fee, at the Information Reception Desk. The permit is issued immediately. Permit fees are as follows:
    • $30 for the year; $15 for the spring semester only; $5 for a second vehicle.
    • Students graduating at the end of the fall semester can receive a $15 refund by turning in their permit and showing proof of graduation at the COG front desk.
  • Faculty/Staff/Associated Faculty: Seminary employees will receive a parking permit application form by email attachment sent prior to the beginning of the fall semester. New employees will receive an application during  new employee orientation. The completed application is to be submitted, along with the appropriate fee (if necessary), at the Information Reception Desk. The permit is issued immediately. There is no cost for one Faculty/Staff permit, there’s a $15 fee for a permit for a second vehicle.
  • Campus Residents: New and continuing residents will be issued a permit by the Housing Coordinator at the time of apartment move-in, or when the lease is renewed. This is a permit unique for campus residents, and an additional “Student” permit is not required. (The resident hang tag will no longer be used after 8-25-14.  Also, the initial distribution of resident permits will be handled through the information reception desk staff as noted above.) Campus residents are provided permits as part of monthly rent for no additional fee

Parking Policies

Students

  • Parking in Lots A, B and D is open to all students, faculty and staff displaying the proper permit, except spaces designated for handicap parking, Shepherd’s Gate clinic parking in Lot D, the spaces for guests (by permit only) in the southwest corner of Lot B, and the spaces for guests along the north side of lot A.
  • Open parking is allowed in Lot C overnight from 5:00pm-7:30am Monday-Friday, and during weekends.
  • Parking in Lot D to the south and southwest of the Graber building, is limited to 24 hours in order to make more spaces available through increased turnover for campus residents, other students, faculty and staff throughout the day and night.
  • Parking in the west section of Lot D in the numbered spaces in and around the campus apartments is reserved for campus residents only.
  • Additional parking, with no permit necessary, is available in the Hudson Gardens gravel lot to the north of the Seminary campus.

Campus Residents

  • Parking in the west section of Lot D in the numbered spaces (assigned to each apartment) in and around the campus apartments is reserved for campus residents only.
  • Open parking is allowed in Lot C overnight from 5:00pm-7:30am Monday-Friday, and during weekends.
  • Parking in Lot D to the south and southwest of the Graber building, is limited to 24 hours in order to make more spaces available through increased turnover for campus residents, other students, faculty and staff throughout the day and night.

Faculty and Staff

  • Lot C is reserved for faculty and staff only (displaying the proper permit) Monday–Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm.
  • Parking is also available in Lots A, B and D, which is open to all students, faculty and staff displaying the proper permit, except spaces designated for handicap parking, Shepherd’s Gate clinic in Lot D, the spaces for guests (by permit only) in the southwest corner of Lot B, and the spaces for guests along the north side of Lot A.
  • Parking in Lot D to the south and southwest of the Graber building, is limited to 24 hours in order to make more spaces available through increased turnover for campus residents, other students, faculty and staff throughout the day and night.
  • Parking in the west section of Lot D in the numbered spaces in and around the campus apartments is reserved for campus residents only.
  • Additional parking, with no permit necessary, is available in the Hudson Gardens gravel lot to the north of the Seminary campus.

Guest Parking

  • Guest parking is in the designated spaces along the north side of Lot A.  Parking in Lots B, C, D, and the non-designated guest spaces in Lot A are for students and Seminary employees only, displaying the proper permit.
  • There is reserved parking for guests located in the southwest corner of Lot B, by special permit only, Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:00pm. Permits are issued by authorized Seminary staff to guests such as chapel speakers, those of the President, vendors with appointments with Seminary staff, and other Seminary departments. The permits are to be displayed on the dashboard of the vehicle.
  • Additional parking, with no permit necessary, is available in the Hudson Gardens gravel lot to the north of the Seminary campus.

Moving Violations

  • Drivers in parking lots caught speeding, failing to stop for a stop sign, or failing to yield to a pedestrian in a cross-walk will be issued a moving violation ticket with a fine of $50. Seminary security staff and ACC Campus Police Officers are authorized to issue these tickets. In addition, a member of the Seminary community can witness a driver in violation of a regulation, call security, and testify against the driver and have a moving violation ticket issued.

General Policies 

  • Parking in all lots is restricted to marked, painted spaces only.  Parking along the curbs of landscaped islands, or other curbed areas in the parking lots, is prohibited.
  • Vehicles are to be parked one per parking space. Vehicles taking up more than one space are subject to being ticketed.  (Large vehicles, such as moving trucks or vehicles with trailers used for moving have short term permission to occupy more than one parking space in the northeast area of Lot B.)
  • Motorcycles must be parked in parking lots in marked, painted spaces.  Motor scooters with an engine size less than 50cc can be parked in parking lots in marked, painted spaces, or next to the permanently placed bike racks located on-campus.  Parking any motorized vehicle on walkways or other unauthorized areas is not allowed.
  • Staying/sleeping overnight in any vehicle in any Seminary parking lot is prohibited.

Enforcement of Policies

  • Enforcement of these policies is through the issuing of parking tickets or moving violations tickets by authorized Seminary personnel, including ACC Campus Police Officers.  Tickets are to be paid at the Campus Operations Group (COG) front desk. Tickets remaining unpaid 30 days after being issued will be charged to the violator’s student account.
