Anthony Grimes

AnthonyGrimesAnthony was born and raised in Park Hill - an urban neighborhood in Denver, Colorado which was the heart of a gang war that received national attention. In fact, 1993 was deemed Denver's infamous "summer of violence." The neighborhood wasn't all bad, though; it was filled with working people, good neighbors, and beautiful scenery. He spent much of his early years searching for meaning and love in this conflicted environment.

He began following Jesus Christ at Colorado State University (CSU) and soon after God called him to be a "builder" of the Church in urban America. Anthony has since helped start and lead several ministries. He helped pioneer a U.S. Navigator ministry for students of color at CSU named Equip (EQ) while serving as the College and Career Pastor at First Baptist Church.

He currently serves as the Discipleship Pastor at Wellspring Church. In addition, he is very active in local and national associations. He is a member of the Christian Community Development Association's (CCDA) fourth leadership cohort which gathers to dream about justice, faith, and the future of CCDA while learning from the pioneers of Christian social movements. He is also a member of the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce. Anthony is a writer, a spoken word artist, and a thinker. He is married to his beautiful bride, Erika, and they are proud parents of their son, Micah.
