Ruth Haley Barton: July 13, 2010
Ruth Haley Barton is founding president of the Transforming Center. A spiritual director, teacher and retreat leader, she is the author of several books, including Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership: Seeking God in the Crucible of Ministry (InterVarsity Press, June, 2008).
In this special presentation, from Denver Seminary's Doctor of Ministry office and the Transforming Center, Ms. Barton's theme was “Strengthen the Soul of Your Leadership.” Jesus indicates that it is possible to gain the whole world but lose your soul. If he were speaking to us as leaders and pastors today, he might point out that it is possible to gain the whole world of ministry success and lose your own soul. So, how do you know if it is happening to you?
In this gathering for pastors and ministry leaders, Ruth helped participants assess the state of their own soul and then explore practical ways of forging a stronger connection between one's soul and one's leadership.
Dr. Peter Scazzero: September 14-15, 2009
Dr. Peter Scazzero is author of the recently released Emotionally Healthy Spirituality (Nelson, 2006), a groundbreaking work on the integration of emotional health and contemplative spirituality. He has also authored The Emotionally Healthy Church (Zondervan, 2003), winner of the Gold Medallion Award for 2003. Pete is the founder and senior pastor of New Life Fellowship Church in Queens, New York City. a multiracial, international church with over 65 countries represented. He holds an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell and a DMin in Marriage and Family from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Scazzero was the speaker for Denver Seminary's 2009 Spiritual Life Conference.

Pastor Gordon MacDonald: March 11, 2009
Pastor Gordon MacDonald currently serves as the Interim President of Denver Seminary. He is a world-renowned author and speaker, having written such works as Ordering Your Private Life, The Resilient Life, Who Stole My Church and a recent devotional entitlted Generosity: Moving Toward Life That Is Truly Life. He has served as Denver Seminary's interim pastor since July, 2008. You can read his full bio here.
This session with Pastor MacDonald welcomed over 40 pastors and church leaders from the Denver Metro area. He led in an exploration of "The Private Life of the Public Person: Exploring the Personal Side of Ministry."
Dr. Peter Steinke: January 8, 2009
Dr. Peter Steinke is an internationally respected congregational systems consultant who has also served as a parish pastor, an educator, and a therapist for clergy. He has worked with troubled churches and organizations for more than 20 years and has helped churches and organizations with over 175 major conflicts. He has studied systems theory for many years and is able to bring to bear insights that change the way people think so unsolvable problems can be solved. He has written three books: How Your Church Family Works, Healthy Congregations, and Congregational Leadership in Anxious Times.
Dr. Steinke led a Doctor of Ministry Seminar in January 2009 and spoke to the Denver Seminary community on Addressing Anxiety in Congregations the evening of January 8, 2009: stream | download
Dr. Yoon Goo Lee: November 10, 2008
Dr. Yoon Goo Lee is the president of the World Headquarters for the Zero Tuberculosis Movement. He is also the former president of Red Cross Korea, former president of World Vision Korea, and former president of InJe University in Korea. Dr. Lee is one of the most influential Christian leaders in Korea.
Dr. Lee and Rev. Sang Hwan Kim, who serves as general secretary for the Zero Tuberculosis Movement, visited Denver Seminary from November 5-11, 2008.
The Vision of the Zero Tuberculosis Movement is to eliminate tuberculosis (also called TB) from the world. Currently, the organization focuses on helping children who suffer from TB in North Korea where there are an estimated 300,000 children with TB and 1.2 million adults who suffer from the disease. TB children are among the "least of these" that all Christians are called to care for.

Brother Yun: September 23, 2008
Brother Yun is a Chinese preacher and evangelist whose life has been marked by both hardships and miracles through his intense desire to reach China with the gospel throughout the late 20th century. He is also a leader of the "Back to Jerusalem Movement" which seeks to send thousands of missionaries out from China into the least-gospel-reached countries of the world, most existing between China and Israel. He now lives in Germany and is married to Deling and has two children.
In light of his new book Living Waters, the companion to his bestselling The Heavenly Man, Denver Seminary was honored to have Brother Yun on campus on September 23, 2008 to share his experiences as a preacher and evangelist in China. Brother Yun spoke during chapel and again later in the evening.
