Search our databases for full-text articles, journal citations, and other resources.  The following databases are available through the library. Most are available online.

Remote access is available for Denver Seminary students, faculty and staff


When accessing Denver Seminary databases (EBSCO, WorldCat, etc.) from off campus, please enter your Windows* or densem* login information in the popup login screen.  

*at the login screen enter:

 Username (Student ID or Windows login name)


When accessing the Digital Theological Library databases, enter your Library barcode on the login screen.  (Your barcode is on the back of your Denver Seminary ID card.)

This is a complete list (with access links) to all of the EBSCOhost databases covered in our subscription (several listed individually below.)  Includes full database descriptions and title lists.  Denver Seminary students, faculty and staff may request articles that are not available online through interlibrary loan. Please use the ILL request form.

Personal Account Access:  Did you know that Denver Seminary students, faculty, and staff are able to access EBSCO databases and E-Books from off campus without using Seminary authentication logins each time?  Simply set up a personal account on EBSCO (click here for help in setting up a personal EBSCO account) and sign in at least once every 90 days while on campus or while logged in with the Seminary authentication passwords.  (Seminary authentications for electronic databases are listed on the EDB Remote Access list posted on MyDenSem.  To locate the list, login to your MyDenSem account, click on Quick links and choose Library. To access EBSCO databases and E-Books from off campus with your personal EBSCO account, use this link.

Academic Search Premier

Provides full text for more than 3,460 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. This database is updated on a daily basis. Part of the EBSCOhost package.

American Doctoral Dissertations

American Doctoral Dissertations™ has been expanded to offer greater coverage of 20th Century research as well as access to full text.The enhanced database includes more than 153,000 theses and dissertations in total, including 70,000 new citations for theses and dissertations from 1902 to the present.The new citations include a link to access the full text, when available, via the Institutional Repository where the thesis or dissertation is housed such as OhioLINK, Rochester Institute of Technology and North Carolina State University. It is hosted on the EBSCOhost platform.

ATLAReligion with ATLASerials

ATLA Religion Database® (ATLA RDB®) with ATLASerials® (ATLAS®) combines the premier index to journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion with ATLA's online collection of major religion and theology journals. The ATLA Religion Database includes more than 620,000 article citations from more than 1,746 journals (575 currently indexed), more than 250,000 essay citations from over 18,000 multi-author works, more than 570,000 book review citations, and a growing number of multimedia citations. In ATLASerials, full text is provided for more than 380,000 electronic articles and book reviews. This database is produced by the American Theological Library Association and is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform.

Biblical Archaeology Society Online Archive

Biblical Archaeology Review is the only magazine that connects the academic study of archaeology to a broad general audience eager to understand the world of the Bible. Catholic Periodical & Literature Index

Catholic Periodical & Literature Index contains over 241,000 records from 190 Roman Catholic periodicals as well as papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith, authored by Catholics or produced by Catholic publishers. Coverage begins in 1981 and continues to the present. It is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform.

Chicago Manual of Style Online

The 16th edition of The Chicago Manual of Style is now available! With state-of-the-art recommendations on editorial style and publishing practices in the digital age, The Chicago Manual of Style is the must-have reference for everyone who works with words. Digital Theological Library

Produced by the Association of Christian Librarians, CPI indexes more than 100 selected publications ranging from education and health, the social sciences and humanities. All major doctrinal positions within evangelical Christianity are represented. Limited to one user at a time. It is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform.

New Testament Abstracts

Covering the years 1988-present, represents scholarly works and specialized studies in New Testament studies. It is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform.

Contains over 12,000 records, representing scholarly works and specialized studies, 1992 to the present. Abstracts, all written in English, cover works from many different languages, including journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and Festschriften. Philosopher's Index with Full Text

The Philosopher's Index with Full Text consists of 200 full-text journals covering all facets of philosophy. It features journals that are international in scope and contain the topics in philosophy most researched and written about, including ethics, political philosophy, social philosophy, logic, metaphysics and epistemology, among others.. It is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform and is limited to one user at a time.


PsycARTICLES, from the American Psychological Association (APA), is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains more than 134,000 articles from 63 journals - 50 published by the APA and its imprint, the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF) - and 13 from allied organizations. It includes all journal articles, book reviews, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1894 to present; nearly all APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1. It is accessible on the EBSCOhost platform.


PsycINFO , from the American Psychological Association (APA), contains nearly 2.4 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. 98 percent of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,200 periodicals in more than 27 languages. Religious & Theological Abstracts

Contains abstracts and citations of articles appearing in periodical literature in the fields of religion and theology covering over 400 journals.

Research in Ministry

Indexes Doctor of Ministry projects from reporting schools of theology accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Indexing began in 1981.

TREN (Theological Research Exchange Network)

Denver Seminary's M.A. Theses and D.Min. Projects are indexed by (and available for purchase from) TREN. The Theological Research Exchange Network (TREN) is a library of over 20,000 theological thesis/dissertation titles representing research from more than 135 different institutions. Titles may be ordered online through their search and order system. TREN also makes available conference papers from major scholarly societies such as the Evangelical Theological Society. The library has contracted with TREN to obtain a limited number of TREN pdf documents each year.  If you are a faculty member or a student at Denver Seminary, please contact the reference librarian at or 303.762.6961 to see if we can obtain documents for you at no cost.  Doctor of Ministry students have authorized access and should check their Moodle accounts for instructions.
