Denver, home to the Colorado State Capitol, is a beautiful city offering many cultural opportunities. With an estimated 2010 population of 600,158, it is the most populous city in Colorado. Its skyscrapers marking the final transition between the Great Plains and the American West, Denver stands at the threshold of the Rocky Mountains. Despite being known as the "Mile High City," and serving as the obvious point of arrival for travelers heading into the mountains, it is itself uniformly flat. The majestic peaks of the Front Range are clearly visible but begin to rise roughly fifteen miles west of downtown, allowing Denver plenty of room to spread out. ABOUT SERA SCHOOLS: Founded in 2005 by Brita Fay, Sera Schools has multiple locations. Sera Schools is the largest private music school from Summit County to Mesa County, CO. RESPONSIBILITIES: Part-time Sera Schools™ piano, guitar, violin, voice and early childhood instructor, 4-5 afternoons per week with the potential of position eventually becoming full time with increased enrollment. Qualified candidate will teach weekly 30-60 minute group classes & private classes (1-5 students), 45 minute group classes (5-10 students). Communication & supervision of Sera Schools staff to promote consistency of product as well providing a high level of service to our customers. *Organize a productive music classroom. *Design lessons with logical sequential content using techniques that allow for individual learning styles. *Display a superior command of subject manner. *Establish and clearly communicate acceptable parameters for student behavior. *Develop positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and faculty. *Encourage student independence and creativity. *Model a positive self-concept, attitude, and a healthy life style. *Develop and implement professional and personal growth plans. *Participate in recitals and trainings. *Support and maintain school regulations and rules. *Select and insist upon appropriate channels for resolving concerns/difficulties. *Provide needed and requested information in a timely and effective manner. *Make sound decisions on a consistent basis. *Physically perform the tasks. EDUCATION: College Degree in vocal, guitar, violin and or piano performance or education preferred. Corresponding experience in related fields considered.
