Event Planner/Project Assistant Intern at Youth for Christ/USA

Description:

The Event Planning/Project Assistant internship program is designed to immerse students in all aspects of event production and project management. Our interns gain a valuable understanding of many different aspects within producing an event and how they all interact with one another to produce the special event.
Interns will also assist with complex projects (unrelated to specific events) by dividing large project goals into manageable tasks, coordinating project communications, and performing administrative duties on behalf of a team.
Our Interns will interface with YFC staff, volunteers, donors, youth, vendors, as well as other non-profit organizations. Our interns walk away with all of the real experience that event and project mangers face on a daily basis.
Qualifications
1 Undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate interested in non-profit sector, event planning, administrative support, or project management
2 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3 Some experience in event and/or meeting planning.
4 Ability to communicate effectively through telephone, email, and written communications.
5 Self motivated with the ability to prioritize workload and to manage multiple tasks
6 Strong organizational skills, including flexibility, willingness to adapt to change and attention to detail.
7 A servant’s heart, including willingness to participate in everything from strategy to administrative functions such as note-taking, correspondence, scheduling
8 Ability to take leadership and initiative as well as work and problem solve independently.
9 Natural customer service skills.
10 Basic Computer and Internet competency required: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and basic understanding of Social Media promotion.

Time Commitment
1 Must be able to work at least 20 hours per week; more if available
2 Must be able to commit to 3 months
3 Must be available for some travel to special events




Internship Details

This internship is based out of our National Service Center office in Englewood, Colorado.

This is an unpaid internship, though the intern will have the opportunity to raise financial support to earn a stipend.
