Graphic Design Intern at Youth for Christ/USA

The Marketing & Development Departments are working to educate the public about Youth for Christ’s mission. Our goal is to communicate that Youth for Christ is a non-profit organization that is reaching some of the toughest teens in America and is worthy of general public interest, press attention, and financial support.
Youth for Christ is in the middle of a significant re-branding project. Applicants will gain real-world experience on what it takes to accomplish a major re-branding initiative in a nationwide non-profit organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Projects may include, but will not be limited to:
1 Design printed and digital marketing materials, including brochures, posters, and web banners.
2 Design visual displays around the office that tell our story, and bring our work to life... reminding staff and visitors why we’re in this mission.
3 Prepare orders and artwork files for print.
4 Monitor and update inventories for printed materials. Organize and manage photography archives.
5 Edit the Youth for Christ website, blogs, and social media outlets.
6 Help produce content for the weekly newsletter.
7 Provide support in strategic meetings to increase awareness of Youth for Christ and create brand recognition.
8 Perform marketing research and general administrative tasks as needed.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1 Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
2 Microsoft Office
3 Excellent design skills with a strong focus on typography and layout.
4 Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5 Experience/strong interest in writing and editing copy for marketing materials.
6 Resourcefulness, ability to take initiative, and to work both independently and as a team are vital.
7 Knowledge of basic HTML and familiarity designing for the web is preferred.



GOALS OF THE INTERNSHIP
This internship will provide key work experience in graphic design, marketing, and communications at a nonprofit organization. INTERNSHIP DETAILS
40 hours per week preferred with flexible office hours (You’re a designer, after all!). Part-time can be negotiated. The internship lasts three months at our national headquarters in the Denver metro area, and the position may be reviewed for more permanent work following the 3 month internship.
This is an unpaid internship, though the intern may raise financial support to earn a stipend.
